So I looked at my stats and my protein level is pretty low. I did buy some protein powder to start eating with my oatmeal and to have a shake after my heavy lifting workouts.

What are some other high in protein foods that you eat or snack on during the day? I work in an office M-F so I do have a fridge to store food in.

Meat, eggs, dairy, legumes for starters

Edit: Missed the last bit about snack foods:

    Greek Yogurt
    Cottage Cheese with protein powder
Tuna with Fat Free Sour Cream and hot sauce

    If you have a microwave:
Microwave omelete with salsa and fat free sour cream
Chicken breast, with or without anything

It can get a bit soupy depending. I sometimes add some salsa (lime and cilantro are also choice) and eat it with celery sticks or carrots.
  • Yogurt with a TB of chopped walnuts.

Almonds with high fiber whole grain crackers.

    Low fat cottage cheese.

Beans! You can buy or make all kinds of Hummus and spreads and dips made from beans! great for snacking on with veggie sticks. try a red lentil and sweet potato hummus, a black bean & cilantro dip, white bean & pesto hummus, spread them on wholegrain flatbread, dip with multi grain tortilla chips, in a wrap with fresh veggie slaw... so many ways to enjoy beans.
Try oven roasting chick peas for a crunchy snack, yum!
  • Thank you! I forgot about a lot of these that are easy to bring with me on the go and to work. I don't know why I'm so brain dead sometimes.

I did look up some protein bars and I need to make a trip to the store to get some flour for them. I'm excited to make those. I think those will help a lot. Then I will pick up some of these other items as well.

Do you all make eggs in the microwave? I've never tried it before. I think I will go back to making mini egg muffins that I can bring to work with me. I did that before and it worked out well. I made 24 mini eggs and then I'd bring them to work and heat them up for breakfast. They were really good.

    Thanks again!
