Hey there everyone. Name is Melanie, just call me Mell. Just joined a few days ago and have been busy adding all the horrible things I put in my body..LOL I ignored the community part of this because well, it's really hard at times to admit just how far you've sunk. But here I am.
I'm a 34 year old woman who has been diagnosed with Stage 2 hypertension because of my obesity. It's become a point of not only do I WANT to lose the weight, but I HAVE to lose the weight. I work from home over 18 hours a day sitting at a desk. I'm a single mother of 2 teenagers who can not only out-run me, but now out-walk me. Oh joy.
I've lost the weight before. At my largest back in 2003 I was 297 pounds and a size 26. It took me 3 years to lose the weight. Then I had a bunch of medical issues and a combination of the medications, poor lifestyle, and now working at home on my tush have caused it all to come back.
I have a really hard time here because 2 years ago I moved to California from Ohio. None of my friends live out here, they're all back in Ohio so I can't just call them up to chat during my walks(when I take them) and the few people I do know out here don't walk, or diet, or care.
I'm addicted to coffee, and sugar, and I hate drinking water. I have developed into a poster child for couch potato. Even right now as I'm typing this I should be working. Yet it's nice enough out I should be walking! You see the cycle?
Okay, well now that I've gone and typed a mini-novel; Hey there, Hi there, and Ho there!
