Shin splints or general muscle soreness

Monday I started the C25k program. Did day 2 today. I have fitted running shoes and prior to this have been doing 30DS. I'm a lil sore not bad just a little more than enough to notice. The sore area is about 1/2 in under my knee and more toward the outside. Do you think I've managed to start getting shin splints or just a general muscle soreness? Any good stretches?

    Before you run point you toe and do the alphabet twice for each leg works likes a charm. :wink:

    I went to the dr for the same pain in the same area. When you bend a certain way, does it seem to get hung up? I don't know how else to explain it. She said there was nothing wrong with my knee. I said, I know! I didn't come for my knee and she continued to roll my knee. I up and left pissed. Now I have some serious pain in my other knee and will be looking for a new dr.
