I have both. I find I like my hrm better. I really don't need to know how many calories I burn through out the day everyday as long as I know what I burn during my workout. So my bb rarely gets used.

I've had my HRM for about 14 months. I've have my BodyMedia Fit for 12 months. While both have their purpose in my journey, eventually I plan on phasing out the BodyMedia Fit, while I plan on keeping my HRM (and probably getting a new one since my current one got badly bashed when I fell while out skating last fall and it's hard to read the numbers on the watch quickly, which bugs me when I'm trying to check my heart rate while running.

That said, this last year I've spent with the BMF has been invaluable and the data that I've seen (and compiled) will undoubtably be helpful to me once I do phase it out.

But if my hand was forced, I'd chose the HRM as far as long term usefulness.

What hr monitor do you have and do you like it? Which one is the best?

I have the Polar FT4 and would be looking to replace it with the same. I read a lot of reviews on a lot of HRMs back when I was originally shopping, because I was looking for quality and inexpensive. I finally decided that quality was more important then inexpensive and focused on Polar. Then I chose one that did everything I particularly needed it for.

It's been great for me. I love being able to see calories burned and heart rate in real time while working out. Or even switching to the duration/time screen for timed workouts instead.

I have a smartphone that I use a GPS app on when I'm out on the trail, so that isn't something I needed in my HRM and I also didn't see the need for an ability to upload from the HRM to a website since I use MFP for tracking anyway.

I've found it to be very accurate against both my BMF and the app info as well for calories burned. It's comfortable and overall a great product.
