OMG-I weighed myself and in 3 weeks of logging and exercise, I have managed to lose 5 pounds. That's it! I know it takes longer than 3 weeks to see results but the thing is, in the past week or so the scale HAS NOT moved! I exercise like crazy now, when before I came home so tired I didn't move until bed time. I drink a TON of water, stopped drinking soda, etc. I've even gotten to where I eat smaller meals throughout the day. I have only been over my calories 1 time. I don't want to make my diary public because the last time I did that I had a couple of very rude remarks from others! But I promise, I eat a lot of fruit, whole grains, veggies, and I live on yogurt! So WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME???

Nothing.
3 weeks for 5 pounds is superb.
If all of that is fat loss then that's 17,500 calories expended more than you have consumed. That's over 850 a day. You seem to be doing really well. Take care not to go too low on calories in though.0 -
First of all, 5lbs is a lot!! Good for you! Secondly, you need to find out what works for you? Are you strength training? Are you resting enough? You can do this!
Keep on keeping on!0 -
Um...nothing at all
Since the healthy rate of weight loss is 1-2lb a week, you a only 1lb off the maximum amount of healthy weight loss for that time period....so you are doing very well0 -
Five pounds in three weeks and you're complaining? It took me six weeks of dieting, three days a week of weight lifting, and 4 days of cardio just to permanently move the scale five pounds.
Five pounds in three weeks is a nice weight loss.
I'd take it.0 -
I was always told that even if your not losing weight you are losing inches. Keep up your GREAT work. It will pay off in the long run even if you dont feel it now!!!!0

sounds great--slower loss = less muscle loss and MORE fat loss. losing muscle is not beneficial for your metabolism or long term success. take it easy!0

Keep working at it! It'll happen for you. I know, I've been there, worked out, ate healthy all the time! Kept track of everything. Try switching up your workouts and adding a quick walk here and there throughout your day.
Keep working! You can do it!0 -
the average weight loss is 1-2lbs, so 5lbs is awesome, keep up the good work , me and my wife feel like you do. its hard work to lose a lbs but so easy to gain it. keep up the good work and remeber: Trying and failing is a way to suceed however, giving up is a way not to try..Great job, and your doing great :-)0

What I did not know that my personal trainer told me yesterday is that you will lose more fat if you keep your heart rate in the fat burning range. He said most people think the more intense they work out (like running) the more calories they will burn - which he said is true - but that it is in the burning carbs mode - not burning fat mode. So he suggested to me instead of doing a constant pace jogging - to do a walk - then do a burst of jogging, then go back to a walk. I don't have a heart rate monitor so it may be hard for me to tell when I am going over that fat burning zone though. I am actually doing some google searches on this today since I hadn't thought of it that way before. I thought if I jog and I burn calories - I will lose - simple. But I guess nothing is simple when it comes to losing weight anymore!
Bu I agree with the other posters - 5 lbs in 3 weeks is awesome - I'd take it right now.0 -
Thanks everyone. Gosh, it's so easy to get frustrated! What do you guys think about just eating fruits and vegitables for a day?0

You need fat and protein for a healthy/balanced diet. I think you'd be horribly bloated, gassy, and it's unnecessary. Do what you can do for life, not any fad-type diet tricks to lose quicker.0 -
Make sure your doing a lot of cardio.
Dont weight yourself often, about every 3 weeks.
I eat about 2000 calories a day, but in the gym i burn 1000. So try to for calorie count in the gym.
Give up juice they have a lot of calories.
Cut back on fried foods.0 -

I tried it one day and i felt weak as if my body were malnutritioned, no matter how much i ate. even after eating a lot of fruit i had a hunger headache.0 -

Nothing wrong with you!!! I too get like this! My first week on MFP I didn't lose a pound! But I am sticking to it and not giving up! Keep at it, you are doing GREAT and you are such a motivation to me! This journey takes time and we may fall off the wagon from time to time. The important thing is to pick yourself up and get back on the wagon with no negative thoughts or guilty feelings!
Today will be a STRONG day for you!!0 -

Nothings wrong with you. Look at me I have only lost 5 lbs. in 1month and 13days. of course I gained it back but all in muscle. Um, Ive been reading on here about everyone says to def. eat back your EXERCISE cals. which could mean eating alot more than you may be right now. Also I work out 5-6days a wk as well. YOU most def. have to change up your workouts, never keep a steady routine. ALWAYS KEEP UR BODY GUESSING whats next. and one last thing if ur like me and dont have alot left to lose it can take A LONG time before the weight decides to budge. but dont forget ur prob def. gaining muscle. I know my fat isnt melting away most of it is turning into muscle. HOPE THIS HELPS! U CAN DO IT KEEP IT UP0 -
Actually there is a really good 3 day detox diet - all natural - you eat fruits and protein. Its healthy but it helps your body to get rid of the cravings and can give you a jump start to losing. I actually need to do this as I've been frustrated with my weight loss. My problem with doing it is that you are not supposed to do a lot of heavy exercising and I'm enrolled in a personal training class three days a week and I don't want to miss a class I paid for. That class is ending next Wednesday so I think I might do it. If you want more info on it - it is under Jayrobb.com - called the Fruit Flush. I've done it before when I lost weight initially about 3 or so years ago and it helped me to jump start my diet and to stop craving all the processed foods I was eating.0

5lbs in less than one month is awesome! Just imagine where you will be in 3-6 months after continuing to excercise and eat healthy! Although you may not be where you want on the scale, you still may be losing inches rather than weight. Don't get too caught up on the scale. I encourage you to keep excercising and eating healthy and don't rush the weight off. I've noticed personally that when I want to see quick results, it's easier to gain the weight back. So take it slow (mentally), but continure to bump up your excercise routine and eat healthy. You're doing GREAT!0

Are your clothes fitting differently? I had been putting great effort into everything but had only lost 4lbs. I found out I lost 12 inches overall though (not waist because my waist would be non-existent if I lost 12 inches). It can be tough to not get wrapped up in the scale but you can still get results without having your weight drastically change. TV shows set unrealistic goals. Keep doing what is working for you.0

I struggled for years and got very frustrated because I couldn't get the weight off. I finally had a blood test that told me why. I had very low progesterone and Vitamin D (both make it difficult to lose weight and very easy to gain) and I had food allergies that caused weight gain. Yours may simply be a case of you need to be patient, but if you really believe you are doing everything right (I was) and not getting results, you might want to get some test done.0

Take your measurements and compare. Five pounds is great. Don't give up...keep going. You can now say five pounds are gone forever!0

just to make ya feel better. this is what you lost in three weeks, you should be proud that this is off your body.

Good Job! You are doing it exactly right! It usually isn't healthy to lose more than two pounds a week. You could be at the point where your body is building muscle (which weighs 3x as much as the same mass of fat) and is starting to burn fat. It is easier to lose fat once you have that muscle working for you. I know its slow but keep up the good work!0
