Well, I decided to bite the bullet and show what I looked like a year ago and four months ago. The pic on my profile is from about a month ago and that's where I seem to be stuck - with 5 pounds to go. Once I get there, I am going to post a pic of me in whatever bathing suit I decide on for Hawaii.

The first one is a year ago at just over 140 pounds (ignore the baby spit on the sleeve, that's my beautiful grandniece!

This second one was taken by a professional photographer at my company's long service award dinner about four months ago - I think he made me look better than I really did at the time...

The last is my current profile picture from about a month ago.

Can hardly wait to be able to post the last one!

Okay - what did I do wrong???

HI DO YOU MIND SHARING, WHAT YOU DID TO ACHEIVE YOUR SUCCESS, I'M STRUGGLING. THX

Honestly, just ate less and did a lot more exercise. Eating less meant instead of having a whole chocolate bar, I'd break it into 5 pieces and have one piece a day, things like that - never giving up anything completely.

As far as the exercise goes, its just a matter of staying in the habit for me. I exercise pretty much every day but Sunday, because I know if I take a few days off, I might never get started again.

The thing I think helped me the most was taking up running. I hated it at first, but it's addictive. It gives your mind freedom to wander, gets you breathing, gets you out into the sun - almost meditation in motion. I started off easy - walk 100 paces, run 100 paces and then gradually increased the number of running paces until I was running (I think) about 1000 paces before walking. LOL, gonna have to start that again soon, probably from scratch - I'm a fair weather runner and its been raining for six months...

Its always a struggle, but in the end, its worth it. Read my blog today to see what it did for me... ;)

You know, looking at these, what amazes me more than the weight loss is the way my complexion has changed - a lot less shiny and a lot younger looking. I never noticed that until I looked at them together...

Thanks for the friend request! Just went to look at your profile and noticed this:
"I want to lose this extra weight before menopause sets in because i've been told that if its on your body when you hit menopause, its stuck like glue"

Made me laugh - menopause was 10 years ago for me and I'm here to tell you that age has little to do with it if you're motivated enough! But having said that, good for you for NOT waiting. (=

lol, it sure has been tough to lose the weight this time around, when I was in my 20's I could drop 10 in a week. Thank you so much for adding me, you motivate me!
