So today I went swimming and after two hours doing weighted jogging a guy stopped and asked me if I did this everyday. Nope I said I usually do the treadmill for two hours a day. (Today was my lazy day) At this comment the guy, the lifeguard, and a few other people looked at me and said "NO WAY I can't even do that" I felt amazing. Just because your fat doesn't mean your out of shape. So I wanna give props to everyone who is struggling to work out in their over sized bodies. I hope you all feel as good about yourself as I did today!

Great job! Even though I'm still "fat", each day I feel like I am getting stronger and healthier. My endurance is the best it's been since I was a young teenager....I think I can even out run my brother who is one of those skinny "fat" people lol

    Keep up the good work!

That's great! Glad you had that feeling.

I, too, do not feel as fat as I am when I'm working out. It is a GREAT feeling! :)

Great job! Swimming is such a great cardio work out and you use muscles you never work in the gym. Awesome job!!

Great job. Be careful about the weighted jogging, I read somewhere that it can be tough on your joints. It may throw your pace off in slight ways you don't notice and make you more prone to injury. It would suck to be working hard and get sidelined by an injury. Take care.
  • AMEN!!! Thanks for the thought. I always wonder what those who see me in the gym every single day are thinking as I start before them on the treadmill or bike and end after them. I know when I tell people I work out 5 times a week they think "ya right"

I so agree and feel the same way! I may look unhealthy or lazy because of my size, but I build more and more stamina and endurance everyday that I exercise and push myself! I'm pretty sure I can outrun many of the healthy looking 'skinny' people.

    That's a great NSV.

After checking out my XBox Kinect Adventures photos, I have a new theory: Everyone looks skinnier while they're working out! It's like an optical illusion, the brain goes, no, she can't be fat, she's moving!

A-freakin-Men to that! I've had so many people just assume that I sit around staring in the fridge instead of what I actually do... I did a 5k at nearly 300 lbs. Most people I see out at the park are overweight with their a$$es glued to a bench playing words with friends or something. I go to the park and run... moreso let my fat jiggle itself to death, but same diff. We're strong! We DO stuff... good for you!

fabulous! I quite enjoy the look on people's faces when I tell them that I work out 6 days a week.... it's like it just won't compute for them that someone as fat as me could possibly be that active...

    WTG! That is very true!

I used to get that too but now that i've lost so much weight I guess people just assume. LOL. My boyfriend has always been skinny but he has very high cholesterol and other health issues. I've always had good cholesterol numbers even when I was 250 lbs. :) There is such thing as a "fat" skinny person.

    Awwww I love this!!

I actually had a guy give me a thumbs up from his car window while I was doing one of my sprint intervals a couple weeks ago. I couldn't stop smiling. I can only imagine how you feel today. :D

YES! It's so true... just because you're overweight doesn't mean you're not in good shape... just because you're "skinny" doesn't mean you're in good shape either! I've been to many cardio/toning classes since the beginning of the year, and I have experienced both sides... little skinny women who have natural metabolism who just can't keep up, and then older, overweight women who are kicking my butt!!

That's a GREAT nsv for you, so proud of you and keep up the good work!
