Has anyone used resistance bands? If so, what are your thoughts? Should I start with the 5 lb or 10 lb?

I use resistance bands regularly in my workouts and love them. I'm not overly familiar with all the different makers of them, but would recommend you invest in a set of well made bands that come in a variety of "weights," so as you progress you don't find yourself lacking in stronger bands to use. I love the bodylastics resistance bands and they are easy to get online either direct from the company or on amazon. The best part too is they have a website devoted to a variety of workouts using resistance bands (even if you get a different brand, check out their site) -- including yoga, palates, muscle building, cardio and more, and it's totally free. it's w w w liveexercise (dot) com. The shows are live each day as well as archived, so there are literally hundred's of workout to choose from. I think my set of bands cost me $70 tops.
I love using the bands, but it's also great that I can put them in a bag and store them, rather then cluttering up the room with a tonne of weights or equipment!
cheers!0
