Looking for MANLY resistance bands...

So I picked up my wife's resistance bands and thought to myself, "Hey... these aren't bad for light aerobic stuff." I got bored quickly and thought to myself "Maybe I can get more resistance if I make the cord shorter by stepping on it here..." I ripped that resistance band mid-arm curl and punched myself in the head. I didn't learn my lesson and tried to repair it by by re-threading it through the handle and tying a knot... but it ripped again and I punched myself in the jaw doing the same thing.

Since then, I've purchased my own band that was rated for 30lb's at ****'s Sporting Goods. The handle cracked and is now being held together with duct tape (duct tape is amazing). But the band itself is awesome.

I'd like to buy a new heavy band like this one but I'm really leary of shotty quality. Can anyone recommend a good brand?

I don't know if this is still something you're looking for, but have you taken a look at the Bodylastics brand of workout bands? They have a variety of sets available, including some with some very heavy resistance. I've used mine now for about 2 years or so, and they are still in great shape. They're affordable too and I've had great experiences when dealing with them directly. Anyway, if you're still searching, I'd say take a look at this particular brand.
