if you see some of my profile body pics. My upper body is gettin more toned. but then my stomach and back, is the major prob. area. even my bottom half is toned!!! I know there's No such thing as spot training which sucks!! so I hope when I reach my goal weight My stomach don't look like this:(
I started working out: Jan 15th 2012 I did lose 5lbs. last month but I gained back in muscle. which I'm not mad about.
I am: 5'2
I currently weigh: 140
my goal weight is: 125
I workout 5-6x a wk.
Im eating sensible just now (I messed up a lot throughout my diet early on.)
BUT I'M SCARED THAT I'M GONNA GET REALLY FIT AND MY BACK AND STOMACH WILL STILL LOOK THE SAME...
I really want to make my top half smaller as I have broad shoulders and a thick upper body frame and I would like my legs, butt and thighs biiigger.. is that possible???
ANY ADVICE AT ALL AT THIS POINT, ON WHAT I SHOULD BE DOIN WOULD BE AWESOME!!!
AND GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I'm in the same situation. Legs are pretty lean. Upper body isn't bad. but my stomach, dear god. I can't even wear the "right" size pants because they fit everywhere else but I can't button them around my huge belly.
Just be patient. I 100% know how much it sucks, but you don't have much to lose in the other places now right? So there's really only one place for hte rest of it to come off.0 -

yea ur right I dont have that much really to lose. I just get scared cuz my stomach part i can grab about 3in of it. which is mainly stretched skin with some fat (after giving birth 6yrs ago its never been the same) but I hide my pants over that part. and the fat on my back is really thick hopefully its not muscle cuz then I will have a thick back? but im still just gonna keep working out and eating good. its about a lifestyle change for me as well. so nuthin but to do it I guess. DEF. WANT A BIGGER LOWER BODY THO!!0 -
Well, I am in no way an expert, but this is my understanding of localized fat. Our fat cells are stored throughout our body in and under our skin. I don't think we need details, this is pretty obvious. Well, depending on genetics and other factors, people may have areas of their body that accumulates more than other areas(love handles, lower belly, butt, other areas...) When we gain weight, our fat cells get bigger and can possibly divide and create more. When you lose weight, they shrink but never decrease in number. The only way that you can get rid of the cells is to have lyposuction or the like.
So whatever shape you are, wherever you store your fat, is always going to be proportionate. If you lose weight, your thick sections will shrink but will always have more than the thin skin sections. Belly vs wrists...
So, when it comes to muscle definition, the thinner the skin, the more definition. Also, as far as abs go, if thats where your fat likes to hang out, it's going to be the last spot your body is storing the abundance and the hardest to get rid of. It's not impossible so just keep at it. Also, I noticed that when I first started working my abs, it actually pushed my fat out further since the muscles under the fat were growing. If you can feel a firm muscle under your layer of fat then you are doing fine. Just keep at it! It might not be easy, but you can get the results you are looking for if you stick with it.0 -
yes, I can feel that firmness of my abs under this 3in. of thick fat over them..But thanks and I read ur whole entire post I will just have to keep doin wat I am already doin then...No fair ppl who have more weight to lose often lose alot of pounds each month as to ppl like me with little weight to lose IT TAKES THE LONGEST EVER...0
