Does anyone else get that; it is the day before weigh-in day and you just feel nervous almost all day because you really want to 'have lost at least a pound'

I weigh myself once a week, which is Friday nowadays. It used to be Mondays, but the nervousness about weighing less weighed on me all weekend (atleast now I can have a little more treats in the weekend now, knowing I will be good all week.)

I weigh myself every day, so I know how mch I have lost generally, but I get so nervous: 'what if I put it back on by tomorrow' or, like this week: 'I haven't lost enough yet; I need to loose more' (0.2kg today in comparrison to last Friday, not even half a pound!).

I know it is probably quite obsessive. I just wondered if other people get so nervous the day before the weekly weigh-in?

  • Hi, I'm exactly the same. I weigh in on a Friday too. For exactly the same reason as you. I tend to sneak a weigh in mid week just to see how I'm going and normally find I've put a little bit on since last weigh in. I then get really anxious and wonder how on earth I'm gonna lose that little bit plus another pound by Friday!!!
I've told myself that from now on I will only weigh on a Friday to stop that little anxiety attack!! However I'm still really anxious on a Thursday (like I have been today) that I will have put on. To be honest I don't think I'd even mind too much staying the same (as long as it was only for a week) but if I put on then I worry I wud half starve myself to have lost it again by next Friday. I know exactly how u feel and would be interested to know of any solutions. Unfortunately I don't have any. But good luck for tomorrow. If you'd like to add me for support please feel free maybe we can help eachother through :)
  • I do the same thing. I try to avoid all salt and carbonated drinks the day before! I weigh on Fridays too, so I can enjoy some wine and fun food over the weekend, than back on it. But I realize that my weekend treats are the cause of my slow loss. Oh well, I do what I can and slow loss is better than no loss! Here's to at least a pound tomorrow ladies!! Good luck!
