Does anyone have the down low on building muscle during pregnancy? My trainer friend and i were talking about it today and he wasnt really sure. He thinks that you can still maintain during pregnancy but not gain. I am just a little curious, while I am doing an internet search lol

if you are not at high risk, I suppose there is nothing wrong with some light weight training.....nothing heavy of course.....focus on doing the excercise correct with repetition rather than the weight itself.........not an expert...just my advice...0

High repetitions with light reps. Maybe pick up a 5-10 pound dumbell and do ten curling reps, then rest for a moment, then do ten more and so on and so on. Just go though the routine. Higher reps with lighter weight actually builds muscle size. Lower reps builds strength. You also have to eat right if you are going to put on muscle. It doesn't do any good to kill yourself in the gym if you just go and eat a salad. I drink a lot of protein drinks. There are some amazing products out there. ya I already got all the basic down lol I still lift heavy a few days a week but I mainly do moderate weights more reps. i also aim to eat my body weight in protein lol at least 3 protein shakes a day and other food high in protein.
It was just a curious conversation we were having thought I would see if anyone knew here :happy:0
