I just ate dinner and my snacks and I STILL have 356 cals. to eat that I earned from exercise...um, I had 1 ice cream sandwich as a treat haha I'm gonna workout again tonight also, which is gonna earn me more cals. for sure and then I will have to figure out what MORE to eat.
I dont want to NOT eat those earned cals. Ive been reading threads on MFP all day, saying to TO EAT OUR EXERCISE CALORIES BACK..
PLEASE HELP!!!
ANY ADVICE IS AWESOME!
(Ok ditching the thought on another ice cream sandwich 1 was good enough:) and gonna have a protein fruit smoothie instead, later

A lot of people eat their exercise calories, but you don't have to eat another ice cream cake to fill up those calories. Maybe something healthier?0

if you are hungry, eat it, if you arent dont.
if you want something, eat it and if you dont dont.

I personally go for the healthier fats/calories to fill in my exercise calories... I go to Almonds or Pistachios or string cheese, etc....0

Yea Ive been doing that lately this wk. and I find my darn stomach still grumbling. even take a peek at my diary if u'd like im not starving myself or nuthin. infact this new plan im on says to eat wayyy less like cereal and meal bars all day till dinner BUT I DONT DO THAT I follow it with my own healthy added foods in as well to snack on to modify it, so I wont be so freakin hungry..I eat the low cal string cheese, vegis and fruit. but I still get hungry real fast in between meals. Todays the only day I had that ice cream sandwich. I just meant cuz its good and not that bad in calories is why I asked if it was ok to have another but yea..still tryin to figure this eating stuff all out0

I would limit the unhealthy snacks. Two ice cream sandwiches might be much, but maybe try a fresh fruit smoothie or apples with cinnamon and a bit of agave if you really need a sweet treat. hope that helps!0

YES! smoothie it is then. Yea I know about the ice cream sandwich that was just todays treat. Im so glad im not over indulging so yea 2 would have made that possible...I am gonna make a protein smoothie later then and that will be my last meal of today!! THANKS0 -
limit and control...nothing wrong with eating your favorite foods...just remember you start doing it one day and then two...three..four..don't do it
I don't eat back the cals i burned off cause it works for me but if your hungry eat light, smart and healthy:)0 -
Eat some almonds if your net Cals are too low. I could honestly eat them all day... Unfortunately (or fortunately, in your case) theyre very calorie dense0

Have you eaten all your protein, carb allowance? I would try to go over the protein allowance before binging on more junk. Having said that......if you want to eat 2 ice cream sandwiches go for it. But you know there are better choices0

Don't eat. If you expend more calories than you eat, then the body will use the extra fat in the body. That is our purpose here...to lose weight and fat? Right?
There will be other days you might eat more than your ration, so it will help on those days.
Don't stress about how little you are eating. We are not in this boat because we ate too few calories. LOL0 -
Not everyone believes you have to eat back all of your exercise calories every single time. If you're hungry, you have some calories to play with. If you're not, enjoy the extra deficit. Be careful of the fact that MFP often says you burned more calories than you actually did. If you're relying on the MFP database, you're better off eating back no more than half.

Listen to your body. If you're hungry, then eat your earned calories back. If not, why stuff yourself when you feel full?
I've been eating my exercise calories back for the two weeks I've been logging food here, and ended up gaining a pound or so. What I noticed was that I was so fixated on my calorie log that I lost touch with how I felt, i.e whether I was hungry or not.
Today, I stopped 700 calories short because I felt full after dinner and saw no reason to keep eating. Keep in mind that with exercise, my calorie goal is around 2200, so I still got 1500 or so calories.
This is not to say tomorrow I won't eat the calories back, again I will listen to my body. And I certainly don't recommend this to someone where stopping short would bring them below 1200 calories, at least not on a regular basis.
At the end of the day, the scale -- not your calorie log -- will tell you if you're doing it right.
