I have been using body fortress whey protein powder..I know it's not the best becuase I get it from walnmart and its fairly inexpensive compared to other protein supplements...however it claims to have great amounts of protein!

Buttt I have heard it is "crap" from more than one source...what are your thoughts!?

If you have a recommendation for a different powder I would love to hear!! I need high protein though b/c I don't get much protein from food...although I am trying, it's hard to reach 125 g of protein from food alone for me!

Thanks!!

I also do not get a whole lot of protein in my diet. I have been supplementing at the recommendation of my trainer and have been having at least one scoop per day of EAS 100% Whey Protein Powder. This offers 130 cal; 3 carb; 2 fat; 23 protein; 10 calcium and 1 sugar per scoop. I mix it with 10-12 ounces of cold water and drink it down. It's ok...not fabulous but it does the trick and I am getting my protein in. Hope this helps.

gaspari nutrition myofusion is my favorite by far. I have tried a few and this taste better and mixes easy. Not the cheapest but you can find it on sale if you look and you get what you pay for.

I have the same questions about Body Fortress. I do not mind the taste, so that is not my problem. I began using it after workouts since I was getting pretty sore, and the soreness has stopped almost completely. I feel like I should just say, "Good enough is good enough," but some people really seem to feel that it is an inferior product.

I hope someone can help me to understand why this is.

Exactly!! I actually love the taste but I do mix some great healthy goodies in to make it pretty amazing...I even make a little bowl of chocolate lava cake with oats and pumpkin!! Soooo good!

But yes I want to know WHY body fortress gets a bad rap!

You will always find critics of all products. If the product works for you then use it. I think the one I use is yummy, lots of protein vs calories, and has probiotics. On the downside it cost more and if I can't find it on sale it cost too much.

If you have Whole foods then 365 Natural whey protein is the best. It's only 80 Calories and has 16g of protein in 1 scoop. Hope it helps.

This. there will be naysayers for every product out there.... I use body fortress, and have had great success in weight loss and building strength. It helps me get my protein in and doesn't break the bank. I'm open to others if they aren't ridiculously priced, but most of them are!

I eat body fortress too and I have no complaints on it. I just use it for the protein boost and it is very low on sugar. It has worked great for me :flowerforyou:

all in all it's a meal replacement that helps boost protein and tastes pretty good. As far as other proteins, I belileve that if protein "A" provides 4% more bio-availability than protein "B", who cares. It does what is supposed to do, no sense splitting hairs. BF has a comparable nutritional breakdown to most proteins in it's class. You could get real picky and buy natural protein isolates but it's still a protein supplement so it does the job! I suspect the difference in lean muscle mass growth would be negligable between the cheapest protein and the most expensive designer whey. Of course, I'm open to discussions to the contrary, but ya got to prove it to me LOL.
