I need help getting to the protein targets, without also adding in too much fat, so thought I'd have a look at some protein powder, and my husband will also find them useful after his gym sessions.

I have no idea what to get - anyone in the UK use them and can make a recommendation?

Brands I have seen so far include

Bodytronics
USN
Sci-MX
Precision Engineered

Whilst I initially thought they were expensive, it is actually cheaper per gram of protein than buying the equivalent in meat.

Syntrax Nectar and Dymatize iso-100 are the 2 I've used since being on MFP as they are Zero Carb and 100 Cal a serving. I use them after gym and for breakfast mainly.

I'm currently using Precision Engineered, it tastes great and it's got a good amount of protein in it. I was thinking of going for a cheaper option and buying Holland & Barrett Soya Protein Isolate Powder. It's only £11.65, whereas the protein I am currently buying is about £35. It's also lower in sugar and carbs compared to Precision Engineered, but I heard there can be side effects if over consuming the soya protein powder like hormonal side effects lol.

I got Precision Engineering powder yesterday in Holland and Barrett and it was reduced to half price so go and get some quick ;)

I was going to say this too. I used to use these but now I order optimum nutrion whey online its £19.79 for a 908g tub, mixes really well with water, yoghurt and milk and all the flavours I've had are lovely. It has more protein per scoop than the Holland and Barrett ones

My protein is the cheapest by far, also tastes good and mixes well.
I've used impact whey which is £14.99 for 1kg / £28.49 for 2.5kg, or true whey which is £33.49 for 2.2kg.
Impact whey is just like flavoured milk, true whey has thickeners so it's more like a McDonald's shake. Protein is around 20g per 25g scoop, carb/sugar/fat are almost zero, cals 98 :-).
Milk protein is rank it doesn't mix well so it's like drinking chalk.

They do samples for 99p so you can try out the flavours and not get stuck with a massive tub of something you don't like.
Choc or choc mint is the best, banana, strawberry and raspberry work well with milk and banana, vanilla can be sickly on its own but is great for making healthy frappucinos!

They have great offers on if you keep an eye on website, I just got 2.2kgs of true whey for £23.49!!

Might as well buy now before the CONservatives slap 20% VAT on whey, as they've now decided it's apparently a luxury.

Sorry for reviving the topic, but has anybody got any experience with The Good Whey or MaxiRaw? I've been looking at getting some protein powder too as I'm nearly always way under my protein goal and I've seen these 2 companies pop up a few times on my searching as well as the ones already said..
