Is it possible, at age 46, to get back to your highschool weight?
I'm not asking if it is easy or hard, I am asking if it is possible and healthy?
Or, does your body change in a way where that just isn't healthy?
Not sure if I want to try, but I may try to get close.

With the right diet and hard work, you can probably get pretty close. My mom is living proof.
She is 57 years old, and has always been into fitness, but in the last 7 or 8 years has kinda fallen off a bit due to divorce, family stress, etc. But she started working really hard the last couple years on fitness and even got her personal training certification. Then, this past year, she began working with a nutritionist and focusing more on strength training and now, at 57 years old, she looks like a woman in her 40s and she weighs 120 lbs with 21% body fat. She is in INCREDIBLE shape! But it wasn't easy, she is very diligent with her diet and keeping her macros in check, and she is consistent with her work outs. It's harder to get there and maintain as you age, but with determination you can do it!0 -
I don't see why not. I was smaller at 30 then I ever was in high school. Now I'm wondering if I can get back to the shape I was at 30. Of course I smoked like a chimney and ate like crap so maybe I really don't want to but I liked the size I was.0

Assuming your profile shot is actually of you , why you'd even be concerned about it is beyond me. Just sayin.0

I've already weighed less than I did in high school.. but I was kinda chubby.0

Yes, it would be fine and healthy as long you were not under weight in HS. I am only 32 (33 this month) but I weigh now what I did in grade 11.0

Because I wanna get the little "v" shape thing going in my lower abs, like I used to. You have to be rail thin for that.0

I don't see why not, unless you were underweight.. I am only 32, but I still weigh the same as I did in HS. I was heaviest, besides when I was pregnant, in 10th grade at 120lbs.0

Do women go for rail thin these days? Perhaps I am out of touch with the rest of my gender?
I don't mean to discourage you from having/reaching goals. All I'm saying is, that picture is f*#&@ hot. I was not thinking "gee, I wonder if he has a defined set of Davids."0 -
I think it is possible, I was at 145 in HS and currently at 173, however HS was 33 years ago so realistically I dont' want to weigh 145 but would like to get more ripped.0

depends on how thin you were in high school. My legs haven't changed much since high school, but I certainly am in better shape than I was back then! I actually weigh less! I think it's possible to be in the same shape, but not necessarily the same weight. things do shift and our bodies do age... but looking the way you do now, I'd say you could do it... get the V, but maybe build the upper body more than get thin.0 -
My hubbie has the V thing and he is muscular and fit, not rail skinny. I think it has alot to do with his genetics. He has a really nice round bum and good abs. He has played soccer all his life and thats really his only form of exercise. He's super hot!0

Yeah, I didn't know how else to describe it. For the muscle to show, you have to lose the body fat. Wish I could afford a trainer to help me get there.0 -

The Man Y! I was JUST talking to my BF about that! I remembered seeing a D'Angelo video in the 90s where he super flaunted his Man Y. I want the Girl Y
And yes, you have to be pretty damn fit to achieve that.
To the OP:
I think anything is possible, it's just a matter of what you're willing to sacrifice to get it. I know what I would have to do to get the Girl Y in a timely manner, but I'm pretty sure I'd have no friends left and I'd be pretty much just eating boiled chicken breasts and broccoli. It's all a give and a take.0 -

Good idea. Boiled chicken breasts and brocolli it is. Maybe even a carrot. :laugh:0
