College Student - STUCK! HELP ME!

Before coming to university (last May) I decided I was going to lose weight. I did. I lost 40 lbs. Then I came and lost down to 58 pounds. I was 260 and now I am 190. Then around Thanksgiving things went down hill - or rather - stayed the same. Until now.
I am so unmotivated. I am so unhappy. I see myself reverting back to old habits. I ate out probably like... three times this month. I never would eat out. I am eating whole eggs, things that are not whole grain, and ice-cream like crazy... it is insane.
It is really difficult to get to the gym and there is no space where I am living. I need to just make the resolution to get to that gym, but I feel so ... blah.
I just need some support... words of advice... if anyone has had a similar experience. Despite having lost 58 lbs, run my first 5k, and transformed my life in a lot of ways this whole being stuck thing has made me feel like an absolute failure. 4 months. No loss. I hate it, and it is because of a lack of exercise and logging. Help me to be inspired again!

Maybe you haven't lost, but you haven't gained either! That alone is an accomplishment! Do you have any friends you could go to the gym with? Even one day a week to start out with. I love doing Zumba at home, but I have always loved the weight machines at the gym.
When you cook, use lots of spices! I don't believe whole eggs are bad to eat, as long as you don't eat a carton!! I'd go out and get some crest fruits and veggies, too. I think the winter is the hardest for most people, so you can definitely get back into it!0 -
stuck floating in the 188-190 as well and I blame school lol. I am so drained after homework that working out is beginning to feel like a chore. You have to find new ways to work out, something different is always good even if it is just dancing around the room to a great song.
You can do this even if you need to take a break for a while and rethink a new strategy just for school0 -
Hey girl. Smile. Let's do this together.
The gym was a very hard thing for me to start going to again, but once you start going, you feel so much better.
Let's go through this together.0 -
I wont even let myself start my homework until my workout is done. So in a way my grades depend on me working out. I'm a very stubborn person tho and I know that strategy wont work for everyone.0

If you haven't already you may try adding a multi vitamin or some additional vitamin D. Unless you have quite a bit of sun exposure, most people are Vit D deficient.
I have been adding these two things just within the lat month and feel like I have WAY more energy than I used to!!
As another poster mentioned, you may not have lost...but you haven't gained either!!! Take heart, you can do it! :happy:0 -
Ah, the freshers fifteen strikes again. loads have a problem getting used to being a student. I have no energy for the gym, so I jog outside instead. Why not try to join a fun club instead, like dancing or a sport or something. The more social it is the more you want to do it. I had the same problem last year, was living in france, lost weight, and got into my jeans (first time in years). Two weeks at home in christmas and hello muffin top. The weight would not shift when i got back to france, it was so frustrating. You have got to find motivation, find a club, and try to limit the binges. I know its hard, believe me (especailly when you have a flatmate who can eat an entire tub of ben and jerry's no probem when you're stuck with oatcakes, grrrrr) and studying makes you reach for the snacks cos you have no time and cos you're bored and want a bit of a reward.
Its getting you depressed but dont let this beat you and give up, try to regain that feeling you had before you went home, how proud of yourself you were, you can get that back!
Add me as a friend if you like, for motivation and stuff :P0 -
It's always making the first step to the gym that's the hardest, and it's so hard to remember that and fight against the feeling, but it'll get better and better as you go on.
It's like trying to push a broken-down car. It feels impossible to move it but if you keep pushing as hard as you can, it starts to roll a little. Keep going and it'll go at miles an hour! Then you can get it to the garage and get it motoring full blast
You've done absolutely amazing so far, and school is always gonna make exercising difficult - I'm in the same situation, we don't even have a campus to walk around, just one building. But it's just a phase, you can get back into good eating again. The longer you wait before getting out of this rut, the longer you feel this way.
It's difficult to get going, but do one thing different every day until you're back to your old get-fit plan. Every success will give you a buzz and pick up your mood0 -
"I know that feel bro."
No really, I do. I'm in the 185-187 suck thingy right now, and getting to work out is hard for me, too. What I just do is track my food all the time, even if I don't finish the diary. Just having an idea of what I'm eating helps me to maintain healthy intake when I'm not working out. I'm very frustrated that I'm not getting to my next goal yet, but just the little things are helping, I suppose.
Sometimes when you are in your room, or have free time, you can run or do like situps or pushups or something. You never really have to do a full work-out to feel good about working out during the day. I have a picture here, it might help with leg workouts if you are looking for something like this.
