I need help, I have been working out 5-6 days a week for two & a half weeks for 30-45 minutes each time, and have yet to see any difference. Also, I've been eating VERY healthy, 1200 calories a day. Why haven't I been losing weight?

sounds like you might not be eating ENOUGH calories. Try to up it a few hundred or so calories. It's important to eat the calories that you work off when you're exercising. If not, you body could go into starvation mode. When in starvation mode, your body will keep you from burning calories as fast, thus making it difficult to lose weight. When using this site, if you document your food and your exercise both, it will adjust your daily values to make up for your exercise.

Here ya go. No sense re-saying it.
Wow, look at all the new faces! Welcome all of you guys that have joined up in the last few days and weeks. I guess it really is true what they say about new diets starting in the spring (although we don't call it dieting, we call it a lifestyle change)

Anyway, don't get me wrong, I don't mean Newbie in the derrogatory sense, we are delighted that you have decided that MFP is a good place to start your journey (or continue it!). Over the past 6 or 8 months some of us have put out some great, informative posts that have helped many on MFP. I hope you will take a few minutes and read them, they can be very informative and may head off some questions you ask before you ask em.

Yeah, eat your exercise calories. Bump up about 100-200 calories every few days until you're eating a good deal of them.
  • Thanks everyone, this is so hard for me to understand still and I am not sure why. I've read the articles, but I'm like more calories, I'm trying to lose them, haha. But I think I can do this...eat more...no problem!

As long as you're choosing mostly whole and wholesome foods as you bump up your calories, your metabolism will kick into gear and the fat/pounds will come off. Also, be sure you're eating every 2-3 hours (so 5-6 smaller meals or 3 meals plus 2-3 snacks). That fires up the metabolism and makes it more willing to let go of fat stores.

It is hard to wrap your head around eating the calories you worked so hard to burn off, but it works, and it's a lot easier to stick with than starving yourself.
