I used 5lb dumbbells for the entire thing.0

Due to the fact that I can't locate one of my 2lb weights, I am using the 5lb. And it is KILLER! I'm on day 4 of the 30DS. I'm managing with the 5lb, but it's tough!

I use 5 lb too, but they make some of the moves a little too hard, so I would probably go with 3 lbs0

I don't have hand weights -so I used 200g canned tomato tins.. (the 450g tins were too large for my hands!)0

I used 3lbs but now that I finished my 30 days and still doing it daily I need to up them to 5 lbs. 3lbs was never really challenging for me, but I heard 5 lbs is a huge difference. Hope that helps
Good luck!

I started with 3lbs but I wasn't feeling it so I moved to 5lbs. I still use 3lb on the side lunge with lateral raises, I guess my shoulders aren't as strong as the rest of my arms cause I fatigue faster on those. lol0

It does depend on your strength. I started out with 5lbs. I think if you had a set of 3, 5, and 8 lb weights, you'd be good to start. If you're pretty strong now, dump the 3lbs, maybe the 5lbs and get 10 lbs and a set of 2.5 lb "add ons". You do need a couple different weights because some of the exercises you'll be able to use more weight.
There is a set of weights that you can buy specifically for Jillian's routines. Nothing special except they are a good size for women's hands, come with a nice holder, etc. If you already have some, like I did, no point in putting out the extra $.
Good luck!0 -
Thanks. I will probably go with the 5's. I already lift at the gym but I am going to do this the days I just can't make it. With 3 kids those days just happen sometimes! I wanted a backup plan : )0
