My friend has lost 51 pounds using this site, so I thought it was time I checked it out. Glad I did. I am an old lady but am tired of being over weight. I'll practice Sat. and Sun. and get serious on Monday. I need to find a job and people believe that fat equats to laziness. I'm not lazy. I'm just a person who eats the wrong food. :drinker:

Welcome and best of luck on your journey! I found that logging my first couple of days without making any diet changes helped a lot... then you can see what your "normal" is and where to go from there.

You sound like you're very self aware... I think a lot of people DO think "fat equals lazy", but I have been the "interviewer" quite a few times, and I'll say that a nice, well fitting outfit, a good haircut, manicure and tasteful makeup with put forth a good impression as well. Looking like you carry yourself well goes a long way no matter what your weight. I'd hire a larger person who makes a good impression over a skinny slob any day!

Just my two cents :-) Good luck on the weight loss and the job hunt!

From one ol' lady (relative nubie) to another...welcome! You will love it here. Lots of good information (but as in anything you have to be able to clear the wheat from the chafe) and some very encouraging people.

Settle in, make yourself comfortable, look around the site, read lots of message boards...and if you want, add me as a friend.

p.s. I think I have about a year on you!
