I LOVE bananas!!!! However, whenever I eat them I end up being my sugar intake for the day (along with the other food). They are super healthy and the sugars in them are natural sugars! I am just wondering if anyone has advice. I am starting my mornings with a great, high protein smoothie (rolled oats, banana, frozen berries and milk). Just this smoothie is making me go over my sugar! HELP!!

  • I don't know if it is right but I don't count sugars from fruit. I know you shouldn't go overboard on fruit but to me it is more important to limit/eliminate the refined sugars. Just my opinion.

I heard a lot of people get fat from sugary fruits these days....

  • Thats what I was thinking but when I record my food it just come up with the sugar from the fruit. I dont eat much refine sugar, just one teaspoon in my coffee on most days. I may switch to brown sugar and see if that helps at all.

I agree...I make sure that almost all of my sugar is from fruits and veggies...
it doesn't matter if you're going over...as long as its with the right foods

Same! I mean I love fruit but I've almost nixed it because of all the sugar in it (even though it's natural!). I eat fruit like kiwi or a few strawberries now, but I'd still like my bananas! Haha if there's a difference between these sugars it would be good to know

I've decided that when I eat a piece of fruit I will only log the amount of calories that's in it, so I will just put in Quick Calories instead for the amount I have eaten. I obviously won't go overboard with it, and I will keep track of what fruit I have eaten in the Food Notes at the bottom just to remind that I've had that piece of fruit and as to not go overboard with the sugar's lol.
