Hi, I would just like to show you these two photos.

This one is from 2009 :

The person on the left is me

And this one is from today :

I am the EXACT same weight in both of them! So everyone, PLEASE focus more on BF% and measurements than some silly number on a scale :)

    I like my scales lol.

Getting in shape for me though is more about my weight and how much fat I have than about what dress size I am/how I look. I live for sports, running etc so it's all about less impact for my joints/skeleton and being strong and fit.
I wouldn't care if I spent my life being a size 20 (UK) if I could have a life where I could take part in sport at the level I want to and not get any injuries.

I do use my scales to tell how much I've lost but I do know what you mean. I lost weight years ago and piled it all back on plus some (I tried to starve myself skinny, and I got there but there was no way to maintain it as I had no energy to move! Going about it completely differently now) anyway, I look more toned than I did the first time around even though I weigh more.

    I agree!!

According to my scale, my weight hasn't changed in 3 weeks...HOWEVER...all of my clothes are fitting much more loosely...and I was able to throw away 3 pairs of my favorite jeans because they don't fit anymore....they sag too much.

So I know for a fact that the scale is not a reliable weight or fatloss tracker :-)

Yup! I went from a size 16 to a size 12 whilst staying within the same 2 pounds!

I haven't lost anything in a month but my clothes are fitting so much better. ♥ it!

Muscle weighs more than fat while muscle has a smaller volume than fat. I think the point is if you're losing fat and gaining muscle you can weigh exactly the same but have a smaller waist.

Thanks for posting this! I soooo needed to hear and see this! The scale never moves for me and it is so discouraging. My clothes feel bigger, but I always see that damn number stay the same and give up.

Thank you for posting this! I get so down some days because of the scale...I'm currently in the middle of avoiding my scale for 10 days...maybe I'll go longer!

The proof is certainly in the pics for you. You look great! But in the past, I have experienced the complete opposite. My weight has gone between 208-245 and I've never been smaller than a size 16 or bigger than a size 18. I don't get it.

We should ditch the scales for a month...go out and buy a pr of jeans and a shirt that are a size too small.....and at the end of the month...try on those jeans and shirt. I think that will be a much more accurate tracker than the scale

This is the 1st week in a month i haven't lost weight on the scale..but its also the first week my clothes are getting too big. so something is going on that the scale isn't telling me.

..and if I were 264 lbs of pure muscle instead of finest lard I'd still be too heavy.

'OMG I love this idea, girl you make me want to ditch my scale and use your method. This makes for a good experiment

Yes, scales are not everything. I've only lost 18 pounds on the scale but everyone that sees me that hasn't seen me since I started thinks I've lost a lot more than that.

My measurements have gone down quite a lot in the waist, neck and hips but my shoulders and biceps actually got bigger.

Yeah, exactly. And getting in shape for me is being able to run longer distances, etc but I also am coming to see to love what I see in the mirror!

Did you do weight training at all at this time?
