Ok, there's gotta be more people out there than just me! I only need to lost maybe like 10 or 15lbs more but feel like a total failure when I see people losing like 55lbs or 80lbs meanwhile I can't lose JUST 10! Anybody else feel this way?

I've been on here since october of last year and have lost about 20lbs so far, which isn't "a lot" considering it's been five months, but I'm still proud of myself for starting a healthy lifestyle..... but I just feel so useless for people doing laps around me!!! So many people have lost my entire weight meanwhile I can't get rid of 10 measly pounds.

good on you for giving it a go!!!!
You are only a wee thing to begin with (your profile pic is lovely if you ask me) the smaller you are, the harder it is to loose weight. Don't feel discouraged and try not to focus on the scales too much, especially if you do resistance training because you build muscle (and therefor add weight)... keep your chin up

Yepyepyep - that's me, too. Those 'final five' seem to have a tenacious grip, but they will be shaken loose one way or another. Although I'm thinking they may not, now - I've been reading about lifting a lot these past few days and it seems that that's the way I should be heading. Shape what I have and turn those last few pounds into muscle - they'll be welcome to stay then!

thanks for the feedback ladies :) my problem has more to do with keeping my hands out of the cookie jar... my good intentions usually dont stand for the entire night, especially family gatherings and weekend parties.

When you need to lose just a small amount, your body doesn't want to give it up easily...I lost my 75 pounds pretty easy, but this last 25 pounds is really tough!

Yes it's a different challenge to lose a little bit of weight -- people don't take your efforts as seriously! And the program tends to give you very tiny calorie intakes for the day (1200 calories, which is not very much!!)

With a small calorie intake you need to plan your meals very carefully -- make sure every bite counts, so that you don't get hungry. Snacks become much harder to justify -- I rely on teas and coffees.

And regular exercise becomes important if you do have social engagements where extra food or drink is inevitable. Adding an extra walk in made a huge difference to me, as did changing my lunch around.

The other challenge (like everyone) is thinking that "it doesn't really matter because I really do look alright" -- and you do. But it's the upward slope to be aware of, and the first steps to weight maintenance. So the very best of luck to you!

    Love it!!

I have about 23lbs I want to lose in total, which isn't a ton, but anytime you're struggling or have struggled with weight...half the battle will always remain with the behavior. Keep in mind that each time you reach for the cookie jar, its a choice. Sometimes the choice is gonna be worth it and other times, you'll consciously decide to close the jar and go do something more fulfilling. Make sure you're doing things consciously though and keep that voice in your head questioning whether you're actually wanting something sweet or if you're just bored or tired (being tired tends to make me hungry...I think its a drop in blood sugar, but I'm not sure). At any rate, what you've been doing might not be working, so try something new and see what happens? Change up your routine, take up a new hobby, etc. You'll get there!

thanks for all the great replies! so encouraging to know others feel the same way! i definetly need to stop/slow down the snacking. I'm already exercising daily (treadmill... usually about 500 cals) so I don't want to compensate for my snacking by upping that. I really want to get in the habit of healthy eating and regular exercise, and not working out like a maniac for being over calories, you know? dont think that constantly being on the treadmill or soing sit ups is healthy for anyone.
