So I jumped on the kale chip band wagon, and I have to say, I was shocked how delicious they were!! All I did was put a little sea salt, and misted them with a little garlic olive oil... everyone, even my kids, ate in in minutes!
Has anyone experimented with these before? I would love to find some new flavor ideas!

I tried some a friend had made and they are wonderful! Great with chili-cinnamon baked sweet potatoes.
Did you bake yours in the oven or use a food dehydrator?0 -
Ive never heard of them...but will try them...how many calories ...where did you get them from..0

I have not heard of them before, please tell more as we have kale growing in the garden. I juice it with apple, lettuce, lemon and ginger but I haven't heard of kale chips. Are you drying it out in the oven with oil or something, or is it something that you have bought?0

They are great, except that my grandmother saw some in the fridge in a ziplock bag and thought it was a bag of weed. o__00

Thanks! I'm so excited to try these!0 -
I tried them.. maybe it was the kind I got... (idk which it was.. it was from trader joes) the wasabi flavor.
They melted instantly. Is that how they all are, i was looking for a crunch snack fix.
edited: by melt, I mean dissolved. They were tissue paper thin...0 -

Sounds like they may have been dehydrated, rather than baked. They shouldn't be like that, at least my homemade ones weren't! And so much cheaper to make yourself. I saw them at my health food store, and they wanted nearly $6 for a small bag. I went to Target and bought a giant bag for $2, and made about 5 batches this weekend, and still have half a bag!0 -
i'm going to be giving these a try this week ... haven't yet0

Definitely going to try this! :flowerforyou:0

I made some last night, olive oil spray, a dash of salt, back for 20 minutes at 300 degrees. Interesting. You get a crispy sound, but there is little substance. Just a hint of a pleasant bitter taste, but I think you could eat a ton and never feel like you have eaten anything.
I think they might make an interesting sprinkle over baked chicken, in soup or salad, etc., if baked and crushed. I read where someone used them as a popcorn topping.
If you are looking for a substitute for potato chips, this ain't it, fer sure. But interesting.0 -
