This time last year, I topped the scales at about 190lbs - and had done for a year or more. Living in England, I'd lived a VERY sedentary life, which wasn't helped by the fact that I had a fondness for beer, pork scratchings and good old British pie!

I tired ALL sorts of diets over the years - including Atkins, starving myself and even trying to do 'Kung Fu' to get fit and lean. They ALL flunked.

But this January, I signed up with My Fitness Pal and, six months later, I've lost 20lbs and I'm finally back to the weight I was when I was at college!

I know compared to a lot of the amazing stories here, 20lbs doesn't seem like much - but it's a LOT to me. I'm finally happier taking my shirt off, I feel more energetic, fitter, happier and my sex life has gone through the roof.

I just wanted to spend a moment writing a THANK YOU to everybody on these boards. There are so many wonderful people here, with some really inspirational stories. You're all so supportive, kind, upfront and brave and it was motivation from people here that helped me STICK to a diet.

I'm at my so-called 'ideal' weight now, but I'm still not entirely happy - but more important than loosing the spare tire and man boobies has been the fact that I've totally changed the way I eat. I think so much more about what I put into my mouth now and the wonderful thing about My Fitness Pal is that I haven't have to deny myself or so on some crazy, unsustainable diet.

Thanks so much to all of you I've interacted with here. You've helped me reach a previously unattainable goal. I'll still be sticking around - but I thought it was important to write this and let you all know how grateful I am to you!

What a wonderful story! You look AMAZING! I don't care if it's a pound or 100 if it's making you unhappy and it's making you unhealthy then it is a major accomplishment to get rid of it. Anyway everyone knows it isn't the losing that matters it is the maintaining. I've lost thousands of pounds in my life, and gained more thousands

Thank you for the day brightener! Good Luck to you!! :smokin:
