I always wonder at breakfast if I should pour honey or sugar on my oats...which is healthier for me and which is better for my weight loss goals. Any suggestions ?

In the end, calories are calories, so in part it doesn't matter that much. Looking at the glycemic index, sugar is slightly higher than honey....meaning it's more easily and rapidly digested. That would really only be important if you have blood sugar issues.

The two have very different tastes and you may be able to get the flavor and sweetening that you want with a smaller serving of honey or agave syrup instead of sugar (that might save some calories).

I only use Stevia drops! Plant based and sooooooo sweet. I can't remember the last time I used sugar. I did add honey to my tea when I was sick and after I saw the calories it cost me, never again! (till I am at my goal weight!)

Given a choice, I'd choose maple syrup. But I'm Canadian so I may be biased.
    Apparently it contains antioxidants.

    IMO, go with your preference.
