I got sick of reading threads about snacks where people are like "oh yeah, my favorite snack is definitely raw, unsalted almonds with kale and wheat germ." C'mon peeps, let's share our healthy snack ideas that are (or just taste) slightly indulgent!! After using MFP for around 3 months I have discovered some snacks that I never would have thought of before:
-Tzatziki with crudités, whole grain/healthy crackers, and/or freshly toasted pita bread
-Trader Joe's mushroom fettuccine (150 calories for a CUP and it is friggin tasty!!!!!)
-Egg whites with half an avocado, salsa, and a dollop of plain greek yogurt
-A bowl of fresh strawberries with whipped light cream
-Flavored water (I fill a pitcher up with water and then add fresh mint sprigs, cucumber, lemon, or a combination)
-Trader Joe's Rosemary Raisin crackers with Trader Joe's Honey Chèvre (watch your portion size on this one)
-Plain nonfat greek yogurt with some freezer jam stirred in
-Half of a toasted english muffin with peanut butter and agave nectar and/or chia seeds on top
-Spaghetti squash with fresh sage and margarine or a tiny bit of real butter
-Shrimp cocktail (easy on the cocktail sauce)
-Cauliflower mash (blend steamed cauliflower with garlic, a little parmesan, light shredded cheddar, and plain greek yogurt)
-Matzo or regular crackers with light/whipped cream cheese, a slice of tomato, a tiny bit of salt, and lots of fresh ground pepper
-No sugar added fudgesicles (40 calories!!)
-Cottage cheese with fresh chives

I don't know if it's because Cheetos are just super tasty, or if it's because I have four kids but about a week ago, I almost KILLED my diet with Cheetos. I was told about a snack from a friend that is only 95 calories and haven't thought of a Cheeto since. It's Light and Crisp Wasa bread (cracker wafer things) with Light Swiss Skinny Cow cheese spread over them. So yummy. Does it taste kilter a Cheeto? Well, no; but it is a fine substitute. It's reminiscent of the white cheddar puffs.0

My lastest find (one for the Aussies!) is Black Swan Low Fat Greek Style Natural Yoghurt. It is the most creamy and delicious yoghurt I have ever tasted. I've been having it after lunch with blueberries or fresh mango mixed in and it's devine.
I don't know if this one is really healthy... but some people might like it as you get less cals/portion - whipped peanut butter. It still has about the same cals per 100g but as it's whipped and light, you get less cals per spoonful. Pretty stuffed with sugar and other junk though, unlike the Sanitarium no added sugar or salt version that I usually buy.
And those two bring me to another winner: Peanut yoghurt dip:
Mix natural youghurt and peanut butter together, add a little splash of chili sauce and you have a yummy dip to have with crackers or veggies.
PS. I really like raw almonds!
And fresh fruit... my current favourite are plums and white nectarines... heavenly! they aren't in season for long so I'm eating them as much as I can while I have the chance.0
