hey everyone,
I just learned about TDEE, and it said i should be eating 1804 calories per day on average. MFP has me on 1200! I have lost 27 lbs on MFP at 1200 but nothing for the past 6 weeks. What should I do?

TDEE is your total daily energy expenditure - it's the same as "maintenance" - that is, if you eat at TDEE you should not lose or gain weight, just stay consistent.
MFP builds in a deficit for you so you can lose weight. That's why the two numbers are different.
As far as not losing in a couple of weeks, don't worry about it. Just keep on going and you'll bust through the plateau with time.0 -
It kinda looks like your calorie intake varies a lot. Maybe try eating back more exercise cals the days that you're working out. Otherwise I ditto what the above says.0

it said that that is what i should eat for weight loss though! but thanks so much!0

MFP has you at 1200? But do you workout? Those calories go back in. When you did TDEE, did you calculate that you work out? That would give you a higher number. The thing about all of these calculators is that none is 100% accurat.
But if you included 5-7 days of workouts in the TDEE, it will give you a higher number than no workouts.
MFP doesn't calculate workouts for the base number, you get those calories back daily as you workout.0 -
Oh, and TDEE should be the total number of calories to maintain, not to lose. I'm not sure which site you were on though, so maybe it gave you both?0
