This has probably been answered already but I checked the search and didn'T find it. Would a "men's" Polar F6 work for a woman? Or do I need to get the women's F6?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

I have a women's F6. I got it from sports authority.0

I have the woman's polar f6 but in the user settings you can switch it from male to female. So there shouldn't be any problem getting the "mens." Hope this helps!0

That's PERFECT! Thank you!!0

I have a women's F6 and it allows you to select gender. I think the difference b/t the two are size--men's polar might be bigger.
I just got my F6 last week and I'm already very attached to it!!
I forgot to add, the men's probably doesn't come in pink either!! :laugh:0 -
I acually have the men's Polar F6, just because it was what they had when I decided I wanted one. Works fine for me except the watch part is HUGE on me. :laugh:0

Ah, I knew there'd be an issue somewhere. I guess it doesn't have to be pretty if I'm just wearing it to work out. . . Maybe I'll just dish out the extra for the women's. (I'm bidding on one on Ebay.)0

You can get the Reebok XT HRM for WAY cheaper than a polar. It works exactly the same and you don't have to send it away to chage the batteries.0

hmmm, I will look into the Reebok XT, Thank you!!0

Can you wear the Reebok while swimming? I will keep this mind for my next HRM.0 -
I wear my Reebok when swimming. But I dont think it's as reliable as the Polar HRMs. (Not just when swmming, but always.) The user interface leaves a lot to be desired too. But it was cheap!
Another reason not to get the Mens: the chest strap may be too big. Mine is on my Reebok and I have to loop one side over one breast or it falls down. I've got it adjusted as small as it goes, too.
I'm going to get either the Garmin 310XT or the equivalent Polar for my birthday next month. Those models have EVERYHING. :laugh:0 -
question on the women's polar f6...i'm not too familiar with these devices, but looking into getting one. they all look like watches, but do they come with chest straps as well? i see from reading around that they are far more accurate that way, so does this model go from watch to chest strap mode or how exactly does that work??:huh:0

A MENS F6 will work exactly like a womans..............Only difference will be the size of the watch and the strap0

Yes the F6 comes with chest strap, and I had the other kind for 30 bucks which was waisted money for me. I love my HRM and wear it whenever I exercise!!0 -

I just wear mine when I exercise... thats what most people do but some wear them all day once or twice to see how much they burn all day doing day to day activities. Your going to love your f6! Enjoy it...

thanks leash! :flowerforyou: i think i'll try the whole day tomorrow to see if my daily calories burned at work add up to what MFP averages. then i'll stick to just exercise activities. i'm excited! it's like a new toy for adults :laugh:0

I might do that just for the fun of it. I mean I have to wear a bra anyway ......:laugh:0
