Pomegranate, lunch and a Fitbit

Good morning.
What's on my mind are two things.
Firstly, what is the calorific value of Pomegranate. It seems to have the most varied reporting from 35cals for 100g (Tesco - ready prepared seeds) to, well, the sky's the limit it would appear. Today for the first time I used a whole fresh fruit (cheaper and presumably healthier than supermarket ready-prepared) and it is a bit of a devil to get the seeds out (husband says I should whack it hard before cutting, this loosens the seeds - apparently - hmmmm, not sure). Anyway it is such a beautiful colour and tastes good, and is a "superfood" so, got to be worth all the fuss. Would welcome any input re calorie values and preparation techniques.
Second thing on my mind is....girls' lunch out today. I will try to make healthier choices, but......how do you accurately log in the diary a meal which you have no idea what is really in it/portion sizes/quantities of ingredients? I have chosen the restaurant and I know they do good salads there - so that will help. Again, recording tips very welcome please.
AND - have just ordered a Fitbit from Amazon. Very excited about this. Horribly expensive but I think will be very encouraging to see activity/inactivity levels throughout the week.
That about sums up the day in front of me (MFP related - there is more to my life than food/calories/exercise - no, really, there is)
Have a good day y'all.

Here is a good site for the pomegranate info. Alot of restaurants have their menus and nutritional info online. Check to see if the one you are going to does. That will make it easier for you to figure out how much to log. I have had my Fitbit for a week and love it. Keeps you motivated. Good luck in your journey.

Thanks scubagirl - really helpful website and I'm glad to hear you are finding your Fitbit useful. Girls lunch was delicious and I didn't fall too far off the wagon.0
