I'm an every day weigher and would love to switch to once a week but I'm worried that the one day I weigh would end up being a day where my weight did some wonky fluctuation and then I would be discouraged...how do you protect yourself from that?

Same day of the week same time of day. Weigh in the morning upon waking after a bathroom visit. You will always have some fluctuations. I try to weigh the morning following an OFF day to discount fluid retention from recovering muscles. Just my thing, Hope this helps

    I'm once a month.
    I want to see progress.
Once a month increases my chances of seeing movement.
    Tomorrow is weigh in day.

By taking the scale and throwing it away or weighing in once every two weeks or every month. The 3 digits mean nothing. It's about inches and how you look and feel in your clothes, as well as feeling great emotionally and physically.

The scale has a way of holding us emotionally. Controlling our highs and lows. Keeping us excited or putting us in the dumps. The scale is just one tool out of many to track your progress, and in my opinion is the most useless.

day after rest day! that usually works for me. make sure on your rest day you don't eat a lot of stuff though, that could make it really high

I weigh myself once a week and had one pound weight gain one week. I just kept going, knowing I feel better and the next week I made up for it with a 3 # weightloss.

I'd go bonkers if I weighed in every day. I do it when the mood strikes me, usually 10 days to 2 weeks. I refuse to obsess about daily fluctuations, and instead focus on daily food & exercise goals. Like strandedj said, if I am up a pound, I will get it right next week.

iv reently changed to weighing once a week from weighing everyday sometimes 3 times a day!! it use to put me in such bad moods if i was up or sts! then i caught my 1yr old weighing her dolly and said feck that i am not having her obsessed with her weight like i am! so am now sticking to once a week first thing in the morning and now i am really enjoying my weigh ins:) if urup ur up the following week u will be down! Ok I think I'm going to try it out - once a week weigh ins. I like the idea of starting after a rest day because I was a bit sore from some big workouts early in the week so it's possible I was hanging onto some fluids from that. It will also motivate me to behave on my rest day. So, Thursdays it is (which coincidentally is tomorrow, lol, so after that I'll have to wait a week.)

Thanks for the advice & insights!
