I think I might be making those for me and my girl. She's a 11 year old fjord. And she'd really like them.

    This is her.

and here I thought horse cookies meant "horse sized" cookies.....
I'll have to play with the recipe! It sounds perfect for a sweets craving without all the added gunk!

edit: would also like to add that I seriously miss playing with ponies. I used to work at a stable and miss it terribly. Boo. :-/

This recipe looks awesome (and I'm very pleased to see that no-one is making cookies out of actual horses as I thought when I clicked on the link  )

My cousin used to eat milk bones (she grew up at a kennel) so why can't people eat horse cookies? These do sound tatsy

So, my boyfriends daughter made these tonight - yes, for a horse - and I started noticing all the ingredients and kept thinking to myself, "Man, I bet these are good!!" And boy am I right!! Not a super-sweet snack, but just enough! Would be great with a glass of milk!!

    Horse Cookies
    Serving; 3 cookies
    Makes approx 30-32 cookies

    1 c quick oats
    1 c flour
    1 c shredded carrots
    1 tsp of salt
    1 tsp of sugar
2 tsp canola or veg oil
    1/4 molasses
1 c chopped or shredded apples

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until combined. Form the mixture into small balls and place them on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

    Per serving (3 cookies): 115 calories; 24 carb; 2 fat; 2 protein; 2 fiber; 252 sodium

    Per cookie: 36 calories; 7 carbs; 0 fat; 1 protein; 1 fiber; 79 sodium

My lil sis bakes cookies or cakes for the family Horse and I agree most of the stuff she makes is super healthy for humans to eat too...

I've tried organic gourmet dog "cookies" before that had similar ingredients and they weren't too bad, a little on the dry side, but with some milk, ok! Also, FYI the dog "cookies" at PetCo are also organic and the chocolate chip ones are pretty tasty!
