Yep! Same here  But, I give him a break since he works and I don't  All I can say is try to get him to go everytime and continue to go anyway. Somtimes my hubby goes and sometimes he chooses not to go.

You can lead a horse to water......
  • The exact same!!! His excuse was if I have a gym memebership I'll definitely work out.....not so much!! I still had a hard time getting him to go even 3 times a week and now we're out 50 bucks a month!! So (after just getting pay cuts at work) I told him I'm fine with working out at home, I've been doing it right along and don't need to lose anymore weight just maintain and tone up but he needs to keep his memebership and go....or just cancel it. He does have a stressful fast paced job but still a half an hour a few times a week wouldn't kill him.......now I feel better after venting...lol.

One reason I love MFP is that you are all always here. It doesn't work for me to count on anyone but myself. This is may battle and I plan to win no matter what anyone else does:laugh:

My husband started off hitting the gym hard with me but when I added on extra days and longer workouts he slacked- But he is in shape if he wasn't it would be different and he would be in the gym with me.

We both work full time- He is in the Army and I work at a High Risk Pregnancy office we have 2 daughters and we are crazy busy

My plan of losing weight is my choice so I don't expect him to go to the gym when I go or for how long I go for. He is very supportive he picks the kids up for me so I don't miss days if he has to be away at training he helps me make plans for where the kids are going so I can continue to get my workouts in when he is away.

He has made comments that he has to join me at the gym on Saturdays to spend time with me lol- That doesn't mean he workouts with me he mainly spots me on Saturdays because thats the day I can up the weight and he can help me if I can't do it- Those are the days I show my improvements and he gives me credit for my hard work. He has made comments after watching me workout like you couldn't have done this intense of a workout 6 months ago--

I work out in the mens weight room alone-

If you need support and you workout in a gym there are plenty of classes or you can try and find a workout buddy that is as serious as you are to hold you accountable and to push you more
  • ugg yeah, but with my sister. When I first started running I couldn't even run .3 miles and neither could she. We worked up to .3 miles together, well kinda. She was still out of breath and sweaty and the end, whereas I hardly raised my heart rate. (it was a slow jog) And after that she gave up and never "felt like running" i'd happily run at her speed but idk.

my older sister wants to run with me but she doesnt live with me and she also cant run as far as me, which i dont have a problem with but she doesnt want to slow me down. =/ i'll keep trying to convince her. haha

so no running buddies for me. am i that intimidating?

For what it is worth, I never have to ask twice to get my walking partners to head out with me. In fact, they run out the door ahead of me!!! How is this possible, you ask?

They each have four feet and a tale, and they LOVE:heart::heart: to go everywhere with "mama" (that, of course, would be me!!)  One of them is pictured in my avatar. The cream and tan Shih tzu in my ticker is the late and ever great "Dreyfus"--my first "baby." He lost a battle with cancer last August, but in his younger days he would even go on backpacking trips with us and have no trouble keeping up.

I haven't posted any pictures of the newest. member of my "family" a black and white Shih tzu named "Pepper." The fawn colored dog in my avatar and in the ticker is a Lhasa Apso, whose name is Mai Li.

They don't do all my walking with me, as I often do up to 7 miles at a time and they aren't built for that kind of distance, especially on cement or asphalt, but they definitely enjoy their "walkies.":flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
