Hungrier on non-workout days?

Options
I always hear how people are usually hungrier on their workout days but for some reason I am always a lot hungrier on my non workout days and then on workout days I sometimes struggle to get my calories in. Does anyone else feel this way? Is it just my body catching up (if that even makes sense)?

Great question! I have the same issue. I hope someone can shed some light on this. As it stands I workout 5 days a week, but on my non-workout days I just can't stop eating.

I've not really been taking much notice, sorry.

Are you drinking enough fluids?? Just a guess lol.

For me on hard workout days I end up with quite a deficiet, so a lot of times I'm famished the next day because I didn't fuel well enough the previous day. If this next day ends up being a non workout day I totally stress over it, but I try to look at it as an average over a few days in that case and allow myself an extra 100 - 150 cals. I'm getting better about figuring out what percentage of my workout cals I need to eat back so that I am not in zombie land or miserable the next day. For me that is 30-50%, but I'm sure it varies. BTW Sarah you are doing great!

I drink around 10C a day. I usually don't eat back all my exercise calories the previous day so I know I have them for my non workout days. I guess I will keep doing that but it just seems like it should be the other way around.

Maybe exercise helps distract you from food? It does me anyway! Endorphins created during exercise can act to suppress appetite in some also.
