How to keep socks from bunching under my foot?

I've tried a lot of different kinds of socks, and always, on my left foot only, they bunch up or fold or something under the ball of my foot and feel terrible.
Is it the socks? Is it my foot? How do I figure this out?

I had the same problem until I got the grippy no show socks from under armour. I highly recommend them!

I am about to start training for the Susan G Komen 3 Day walk and my teammates have recommended wright double layer socks. Make sure your socks are snug and dont slip around. Cutsie socks are NOT for exercise...as much as I wish they were.

I have a bunch of socks from Smartwool (Hiking, Skiing, Running) that are really nice, and one pair of hiking socks from Icebreaker that is also nice.

It's a hard call, because everyone told me that my socks were too big, so I went smaller, and I had the same problem no matter what.

Might be your shoe. I know on me, shoes that have high backs (the ones that actually have to curve down in the middle with two "bumps" on either side to let your ankle move freely) have always done that to my socks no matter how tight or how low-cut they were. I ended up wearing backless shoes for a few years because of it.

This is going to sound crazy, but if you don't wanna trade in your shoes and you've exhausted your sock option, google for something called "sock glue". It's a Japanese product (you might find it on the site jbox.com ) that's used by girls who like wearing loose socks. If I remember correctly it's water-based and washes right off your skin.

You need to get socks with good tight tops as well as correctly fitted socks. You also need to make sure your shoes are fitted in the heel and don't slop up and down too much. Sometimes you can put pads in the heels to help this, but shoes that fit right from the get go are better.

You may end up spending an unconscionable amount of money on socks and shoes to get the right combination, but irritations and injuries from bad fitting footwear can really be expensive, both to your pocketbook and your health. You only have one pair of feet and you need to take care of them. It is not good to skimp on footwear.

My dad love saggy socks. I hate them. But sometimes they got mixed up.

When I have no choice but take those abominations, I put a rubber band over the sock in my foot (a little bit over the ankle) and no more saggy socks.

But if you want those mini socks, I don't know how help.

I have bought two different brands, three different styles at our running specialty store and have had no problem with any of them - my everday socks, on the other hand, do exactly what you described! I'd suggest trying your local runners shop and see what they recommend.
  • I think for me generally it is my shoes, but I didn't know why before. I think what you said about the type of heel on the shoe makes sense. Because over the years some shoes "eat" my socks and some do now. And the type of sock doesn't seem to matter. I have big feet and usually my socks are tight/small as I am the upper range of the sizes the socks are supposed to fit. I'm sure the bunching would be worse if the socks are loose, too.

I might try to get that sock glue or just not where socks with the shoes that cause my socks to bunch down under my foot.

    Thanks!
