I think I want to start introducing cereal into my diet again, as i end up skipping breakfast or eating peanut butter which is high in fat (even though good fats- can save for supper)
I really like weetabix, but is it healthy? Also, what other nice cereals are there that are actually healthy for a balanced diet?
Milk is also good for the lack of calcium i get (skimmed of course)
thanks!

Depends on your lifestyle I suppose. Personally I'm on a non-processed foods kick, thus to me cereal would be kinda bad lol. For breakfast I usually crack a couple of eggs into a pan, and am adventuring into tossing fruits and veggies into a blender for a quick smoothie. =] Just gotta watch for whatever it is you're watching (carbs, sugars, etc.)0

Im thinking weetabix for breakfast cus, yes its processed but it 100% whole wheat. Is good supply of fibre, vitamins mineralsand can be used as a low carb source. With my usual food like eggs, chicken, salads, wraps, etc maybe itll be ok?0

First you can skip breakfast if you'd like, don't think you have to eat breakfast. It really is all personal preference.
I see no real issues with Weetabix assuming you are also able to get in adequate amounts of protein and fats in each day0 -

awesome. I have been trying!
I struggle with protein a lot, and tend to stick with healthier fats like peanut butter, olive oil and eggs, etc.
Just heard so many myths about cereal being bad.0 -
Kashi Go Lean! It is delicious. Only 140 calories, 13g of protein and 10g of fiber. I eat it every day with banana slices and vanilla soy milk. So yummy.0

cereal makes a great snack0

I eat 1 cup Cheerios Multigrain every day with 1/2 cup skim milk. It's about 160 calories total wtih some carbs and protiens and totally worth it, I enjoy eating breakfast and waking up my metabolism.
You can always check the nutiritional values of things on MFP's food search. Or on the box...
Alot of cereals are fortified with important stuff like Folic acid and vitamins, so that helpsJust make sure you get the good kinds and check the sugars, etc, there is ALOT of crap out there.

I love cereal! I eat it other times of day too. I vote good!0

I eat cereal on occasion. I think you just need to be cautious about the types you buy. Sugar-based ones= not so good. Wheetabix is probably fine. I like high fibre/high protein cereals like Kashi, but I would eat all wheat ones too. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.0

i too vote that cereal is good! i eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack... all depends on how i'm feeling. mostly i eat healthy stuff like bran/fiber things, but i also keep stuff like cap'n crunch and apple jacks on hand. those 2 cereals specifically are only 100 cals for a serving, and i am someone who drives herself crazy if she can't have some fun/junk food sometimes, so having those around help keep me from buying the 450-calorie mini-pies at the convenience store, you know?0 -
I love cereal! I always look forward to it when waking up in the morning0
