Hey y'all - Thought I would drop in and introduce myself.
I have always been fat - since I was in HS and quit the wrestling team to work and help my family, the weight has steadily risen. I had not been on a scale in 10 years until recently, when I went to the doctor not feeling well, general fatigue, and just being unhappy with myself. The results were nothing less than horrifying.
M
31 years old
5'11"
330lbs
hypertensive (on meds now)
hypercholesterolemia (on meds now)
A1C of 7.3 (on metformin now)
Testosterone level of 175! 175! (normal testosterone for a male my age should be somewhere around 600)
Fatty Liver (increased LFT)
The doctor laid it out for me -lose weight or I will likely die prematurely, and possibly within the next 15 years if I don't get my BP and Blood Sugars under control. Once I get my liver function under control, we can get me on a testosterone supplement to aid in my weight loss and general fatigue issues.
That was a month ago. I am now 319 lbs and have been sticking to my 1800-2000 calorie diet pretty well. I am constantly hungry, but I am beginning to feel better. My BP has regularly been in the 128/75 range (was 155/92) and my blood sugars seem to hover around 110.
So now begins the hardest and longest chapter in my life. I hope to share my successes and failures with you.
Much Love,
Tyler

Welcome
I'm new too and hoping to lose the pounds I gained when I was pregnant 4 years ago. Haven't been able to even though I've tried.
I currently weigh 220lbs (yuck) and want to be around 145-150; I'm 5'5.
Any suggestions on how or what to start/do would be great! And of course all the best of luck to Tyler.0 -
hey everyone. i just joined about five minutes ago. if anyone wants to be my friend that would be great. i am in need of motivation. i just left the doctors office and was told that if i ever wanted to have children then i need to lose the weight. ive struggled with this my entire life and i am wanting to make a life style change. i just got married five months ago and i want to start a family soon. i just recently got an iphone so i downloaded the app and am hoping this will make it easier for me to stay on track.. thanks. and i look forward to chatting with everyone!
