So, I've been on MFP for a couple months now, lost some weight (although not as much as I would like), and I decided to challenge myself. I started walking... No real goal in mind, just getting some extra exercise. Then a friend of mine, who runs marathons, suggested that I walk in a 1/2 marathon. I decided to go for the challenge but the 1/2 I'm going to walk in isn't until October. I will be participating in a 1/4 marathon on May 5th though and want to be fully-prepared for it.

So, I challenged myself to walk 25 miles in a week. My week started last Friday and today I finished up at 25.2 miles!!! :blushing: I only used 6 days for that challenge!!

My next goal is to speed up... I am average height (5'4") but my legs sure are short/stubby... I would like to be walking a 16 minute mile by the time the 1/4 is here. My fasted long-distance average was 16:44... It's progress, but going to take a lot more work!

Anyway, thanks for reading!!! Hope you are all doing great!

Great job! I would love to run/walk a 1/2 marathon one day. I have a 5k behind me that I completely walked but I was very proud of it!
