What's your favorite artificial sweetener?

Hey y'all. I'm out of Splenda. I had to put sugar in my coffee this morning. It tastes great, but I don't want the extra calories. What's your favorite artificial sweetener? I might try something different.

You may want to try stevia, it is all natural. I can't stand it, it tastes super bitter to me but lots of people like it so I am just unlucky I guess. For me, I'd rather use a little sugar and take the calories, but I'm trying to stay away from chemicals.0

I loved Splenda until I realized that it was causing me a lot of gastrointestinal pain about an hour after consumption. I switched to Equal because Seet & Low tastes too chemically for me. Most people on here say no artificial sweetners but do what you gotta do for you that you can sustain in the longrun.
I have to have sweet but Stevia is expensive (I pay a dollar for 100 packets of generic store brand Equal!) and real sugar isn't sweet enough unless I use large amounts. I try to limit it to two packets per day and that is usually fine. A friend of mine worked for a company that supplies insulin pumps to diabetics and he said artificial sweetner is better for your pancreas as far as preventing Type 2 diabetes, however, he's not sure about the longterm effects on your other organs. It's a risk I am willing to take.0 -
Anyone know about Truvia? I wonder if it's natural like Stevia...0

I like Stevia/Truvia. It's the same thing. It doesn't have the same after taste splenda does. Much better, in my opinion.0

I like Truvia, Purevia, Stevia, or store brand version (Target and Walmart both have generics). Splenda is okay if I'm out of the other stuff but I prefer the flavor of the other. The stuff I use to flavor my water is sweetened with Stevia too - its the Target Archer Farms brand version of Crystal Light - I like the flavor so much better.0

Trader Joe's pure stevia extract is the way to go for me. It definitely doesn't have that really bitter taste that Truvia has and it mixes well with everything. Overall though I would still consider taking the sugar calories and trying to decrease the amount you use.0

Splenda gives me bad migraines so I switched to Truvia, it does have a bit of a taste but in 2 days I didn't even notice. It is a bit more expensive too but the packets are really packed full so you can get like 2 uses out of one packet.0

Great. I'll try Truvia/Stevia. Thanks for the replies.0

Truvia is my favorite in hot drinks, but it's not as fine as splenda....if you are mixing it into cold things (like your cinnamon cottage cheese)...it doesn't mix well....noticeably crunchy. Just a heads up!!0
