One song I can keep on repeat and never get tired of working out to, is Janelle Monae's "Tight Rope". So up beat and so positive. Songs that really mean something to me, that I can relate to, and of course a hot beat, is what get's me through a long 1hr workout.
  • The Heavy-The House that Dirt Built, gritty and rock bluesy. Love it!
    Madonna-Confessions of a Dancefloor
    The Ting Tings
    The Black Keys-Brothers
    The Arkells-Michigan Left
Indeep-Last Night a DJ Saved my Life
    Jay-Z-The Black Album
    K-OS-Yes!
    CEE Lo Green-Lady Killer
    Big Sugar-Hemi-Vision or 500 Pounds
    The Tragically Hip-anything, really
    Mystikal
    Metallica

Just a wee sampling of my playlists!

I find aggressive or inspiring music the best to workout to for me personally

Godsmack, - quite a few of their songs
Eminem - alot of his music especially his diss tracks
50 Cent - his older material
Linkin Park - the edge, headstrong, wreches and kings
(Just a few off top of my head of the aggressive music)

Errinio Morricone - Exctasy of gold
    300 soundtrack metal remix
Falolous ft jeramiah - its my time
Tpain and Maino - all the above
    Eminem - Lose yourself
    Flo Rida - good feeling
(just a few of the inspiring or epic)

ooooh and the greatest motivation of all time has to be the ROCKY IV SOUNDTRACK, Burning Heart, No Easy Way out and Going the distance are just amizingly awesome

If I'm at the gym, it's usually a pop/dance mix with variations on the theme of "hot chick," like Sexy and I Know It, Sexy B*tch, Moves Like Jagger, Low, Right Round, On the Floor, etc.

If I'm running, it's up-tempo alternative with bands like the Foo Fighters, Muse, The Black Keys, Dropkick Murphys, Weezer, The Killers, Foster the People, Young the Giant (My Body is an AWESOME song for when you're pushing hard... "my body tells me no, but I won't quit, 'cause I want more"), Beck, Franz Ferdinand, etc.

Pandora has an Alternative Endurance station that's pretty good, too. Lots of The Fratellis.
