Guys - shave at night

So, I used to shave in the morning. But, I started taking showers at night and had this great idea, if I shave before I go to bed, I won't have to shave in the morning. Cuts my getting ready time down by about 15 mins. I have a major 5 pm shadow, but who gives. S@$!. Ha! Just thought I'd share.

I do the same thing. I don't worry about the PM results. I like being showered & ready because I often get a frantic call and have to jump out of the bed and go drive a bus.

You could also save time by getting dressed at night, but I wouldn't recommend it.0

I'd look a little too scruffy by mid-afternoon. I could probably get away with it some days. It only takes me five minutes to shave my face, 15 if I'm doing the full head and face. What else are you shaving?0

I'm a Monday/Wednesday/some Fridays shaver. I don't mind a little shadow. I wore a beard for a little while as well but it was always short. As for when, I'll shave at night if I had a shower but usually in the morning.0

I used to shave every other day, but now usually i have to shave everyday, because when i dont i have like a full on man beard
And the latest dissapointment is there is gray in my beard and im only 340 -

Thanks. This made me spit out my coffee. Now I need a Sham Wow.0 -
I'd have a 5 0'clock shadow by the next morning.0

I shave on Monday's usually. This week I haven't shaved since Saturday and I am ok with it. I do keep my neck area cleaned up though. Rather shave a little - rather than a lot. When it gets to that "itchy" point is when I can't stand it anymore and I shave it off.0

I've been wondering what ill effects it may have on my job if I didn't shave much, just every few days or whatever. I'm a little mad at my company right now, so I'm this close to letting go a bit and stopping trying to "fit in". It would be nice to stop worrying about stupid things, and focus on what matters. The work, not how I'm dressed, or how well groomed I am. Unfortunately, my job is highly political, but I'm starting to not care.0

You obviously haven't seen some of my army girlfriends.... lol!0 -
Shaving my face is an event for me. Firstly, I shave after a shower. The warm water opens the pores of your skin, relaxes your facial muscles, and softens your whiskers. Immediately upon getting out of the shower, I apply pre-shave oil. Usually something with lavender which is better for sensitive skin.
I fill a sink about half-way with hot water and dip my badger hair brush for about a minute before beginning to spread the shaving soap. Straight razor or, if I'm in a hurry, safety razor with the grain before re-lathering my face and shaving against the grain. With a razor, shorter strokes produce a closer shave without taking off bits of your epidermal layer.
When I am satisfied with the shave, I put an icy-cold washcloth on my newly-smoothed skin for several minutes before rubbing ice directly on my face. The ice closes your pores and soothes any potential nicks. I allow my skin to air-dry before applying after-shave lotion--again, heavy on the lavender.
All things considered, shaving is normally a twenty-to-thirty minute affair for me. I prefer it this way. It's a cathartic experience and produces a much closer shave than an electric or disposable razor.
Be sure to hang your shaving brush bristles down, if possible. This increases the life of the brush by at least twenty-five percent.

You don't have to tell me... I've been showering and shaving at night for the last 18 years!0

^^ This. However, I use an alum block instead of ice and my aftershave is one that I make using Cinnamon, Bay, Clove and Orange oils with Witch Hazel and Glycerin.0 -
My husband does this...shaves and showers at night.0
-
I 5 o'clock shadows, so I am a fan of this idea.0

I prefer to shave a night, every other day. Lately I've been lazy and I am only shaving about 1 to 2 times a week though.0

My God, are you my husband?
Mine too. Only he gave up the straight razor because no matter how sharp he got it he said it pulled too much and hurt like a mofo. Once he graduates school and is an artist/stay at home dad he says he's going to take it up again.0 -

I have grey in my beard and I'm damn near completely bald on top at 32. Haha! I started balding at 18. True story.
As far as shaving goes, I usually shave the head Wednesday/Sunday. As I hate shaving and my 5 o'clock shadow is more like an 11:00AM shadow I go with the beard most of the time, trimming as needed.0 -
You should just be scruffy hot. =D0

I 5 o'clock shadows, so I am a fan of this idea.
The scruffy look makes me swoon. It kills my face after prolonged kissing, though.0 -
I workout in the morning, shower then shave. I'd shave in the evening if I worked out in the evening but I've got this addiction to Gold's Gym in the morning going and I don't want to mess that up! ; )0

Holy detail. I'm too impatient for the long shave experience.
I love shaving with my straight razors, best shave possible. Totally need to send them all out for a touch up honing though. The swaty doesn't cut it anymore.0 -
I usually just shave on Sundays, once a week. By the time I need to shave, I'm decently scruffy, but I'm OK with that.0

Could be worse. I have two cousins who were going gray and thinning by 14 years old. Genetics can be a *****.0 -
I wish I could do that, but I am sure I would run into some Sergeant Major who would give me grief about it. I cant wait to retire and not have to worry about it.0

Dude, that's just crazy. WOW! I see it as a minimal chore, not something to relish and savor.0
