Peanut Butter~does anyone make there own?

I was at the grocery store this morning and the PB that I usually buy Parkers All Natural, went from 4.99 to 8.69!!! So, I thought about trying to make my own! I've found different, I guess you could say recipes, but I'm wondering if it can be made without adding any additional oil? I don't want to go buy peanut oil because I probably wouldn't use it very often.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You may be able to make it without additional oil. If you dump a bunch of peanuts in your food processor, chances are you will need at least just a little oil to get everything moving in there and not be too dry. Any neutral oil would work, not just peanut oil. You could use canola or vegetable oil. Any oil without much flavor.0

I do, and I LOVE IT! It took my husband and I a couple of tries to get the recipe to our liking, but here are the basics:
Ingredients: peanuts (15-16 oz), peanut oil, salt, honey
Buy 15-16 ounces of peanuts. If they aren't roasted, roast them (about 10-15 minutes in a 350 degree oven, stir a few times as you go- don't burn them). If they are roasted, I still roast lightly to refresh the flavor (5-7 minutes).
Cool the peanuts and place them in a food processor. Add honey and kosher salt. My recipe calls for 1.5 t. honey and 1 tsp. salt, but I find I prefer nearer to a tablespoon of honey.
Process for 1 minute. Stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Put the lid back on and the processor and process some more, drizzling 1.5 tablespoons of peanut oil as you go. Continue processing until the mixture is smooth.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Apparently you can store for up to 2 months.
Enjoy! And if you have questions, feel free to send me a message.
Edit: Yep, it does use peanut oil, sorry! But you can get a small container at many grocery stores. Peanut oil keeps fine for 4-6 months if stored properly.0 -
I make PB once a week. So simple. and its the best now. I wont even try store brands anymore..
It takes 5 minutes and my processor does all the work....
I ONLY add one tbsp of organic honey in my area and peanuts, that's it. No oils, salt, sugars etc.... 100% natural.....
Today I'm going out to buy ingredients for a bar that I have been wanting to make.
Dried fruits, PB wholes nuts etc.. will post recipe once I have made it..0 -

Peanuts have their own oils, if pureed enough the oils will release. no need to add more. Definitely not dry at all, actually fresh homemade PB is much looser than store bought. due to not adding other ingredients that make it stiffer.. just my thoughts.0 -
Yum...thanks for your responses!!!!0
