25lbs gone

I didn't have a lot to loose. But 25lbs was a lot to me.
I started out at 78kg. I was seriously unhappy. I was going through a really hard time in my marriage (which 2 months later ended up breaking up).
Fast-forward to 2012 I'm now 66.8
My ultimate goal weight is 65kg, so I'm not that far off it now.
But I would like to show my progress.
Things I've achieved from keeping a food diary and exercising.
- I'm down a dress size (size 12 aust, size 8 usa)
- I can run again (started off at 3km, then 5km, now working up to 10, and then half marathon)
- what use to be my 'skinny' belt (as i had to always use the hole closest to the end), is now my fat belt
I say this because before I could only wear this belt with certain pants, cause it was too 'short'. now it easily goes around and I'm the smallest hole.
- i can do men push ups. Not many (about 10), but I can do them (working on improving that).
I haven't had a lot of support from family or friends, but that doesn't matter, I did this for me.
Oh and I'm also a single mum. I say this to all the other mums out there who think they don't have time.
If it's important to you, you make the time. Like getting up at 5.30am to work out (like I did today).
And for those of you that are wondering what exercises.
Turbofire
P90m+x (only bits and pieces not a full round)
Insanity (only bits and pieces not a full round)
Running
And now Nike Training Club
I plan on doing a full round of Insanity incorporating run training.

how long did it take you to lose the weight?0

You go lady! It sucks that you don't have much support in your real life, but at least you have us
And I know alot of people on here have lost way more than 25lbs, but that is STILL a GREAT accomplishment, and don't tell youreslf it's not. Go to the dog food department of your grocery store and pick up a 25lb bag.....its A TON of weight to be carrying around each day, it's a A TON of weight to lose, one calorie at a time. You should be SO PROUD.
Keep it up! Way to be a single mom and be a living example to your little one(s) that you care about your body and are going to make time for taking care of yourself!0 -
You ROCK! Just reading through this, I can tell you're a very strong person and I know that you'll achieve your goals Keep upthe amazing work you're doing!0

i had been exercising, but not recording my food. Last year in Aug I rejoined mfp (i had it previously under my married details, but decided to deactivate that account as I didn't want to be associated with 'him anymore iykwim).
So from Aug 2011 to March 2012, so 8 months. I did have a month oover Christmas/new years where i didn't log as I was oversea's at the time. But other than that that's how long it took.
But thanks everyone. It's been hard work but very rewarding.
I've been able to do an ocean swim (always wanted to try).
I've got a 5(.2)km race coming up in 2 weeks.
And I'm training to run 10k (race in july).
So lots of things to keep me focus.0 -
congrats you look great! I love Nike Training Club. I'm taking a break from it now cause I was using it everyday but we have a date starting April 1st!0
