What is the difference between loose skin and fat I know it sounds like a stupid question but how can you tell its just a big roll of skin vs a roll of fat?.I ask because when laying down on my back my tummy is flat when I sit up there is a roll and when I stand up my stomach droops and hangs there looking like a Halloween pumpkin mid dec

would love to see some answers to this question ...i have the same problem as you0 -
Book an appointment with a plastic surgeon, they should be able to tell you how much loose skin you have.0

Halloween pumpkin  sorry i laugh because mine looks the same :laugh:0

I have the same question. I see definition in my abs, but there's a little tire right above my belly button when I sit down. It looks decent when I'm standing up.0

This isn't some scientific answer, just based on my own experience. Fat is usually a solid mass, while loose skin is literally just wrinkly, saggy skin that doesn't mesh with your skin normally. If you look at pictures people have posted of loose skin, you should be able to compare.0

Even your general practitioner will be able to tell you this information. I was delighted to find that most of mine is now skin - and was advised that I was within a few pounds of my goal because what is left over is not fat but excess skin.0

Be patient for a few months and see if it tightens up. Mine sure did.0

I have read it can take a year for the loose skin to tighten up. You may just need to wait it out.0

Bioil may help speed up the elasticity recovery in your skin. Lotions with elastin and collagen as well should help. My mother was told to get Vitamin E gel tabs and put the gel on her skin of her scar on her belly too. Dont know if that helps or not. Good luck0

Love the Halloween pumpkin comparison, that is perfect for what my stomach looks like. I know at this point it is mostly skin for me.0

Thanks for the info I will be asking my doctor tonight when I see her,I am not ashamed of my skin if thats what it turns out to be. its my badge of honor as far as I am concerned. If it shrinks then fine if not then its a reminder to me never to refill it in with fat0
