I am going to a dinner tomorrow (friday) and there will be steak and a salad. I have been asked to bring a side item. any ideas?? My first thought is cheesy potatoes but i know thats not the best option, but it will be feeding people not trying to lose weight or be healthy so it has to be yummy for everyone. So any advice would be awesome!!
Thanks

    Here's a low-fat cheesy casserole to try!

    Cheesy Potato Casserole

    1/2 c green onion, chopped

1 c reduced fat cheddar cheese

1/2 t pepper (ew, not for me!)

1 32oz bag frozen hash brown potatoes

1 16oz carton fat free sour cream

1 10oz can reduced fat cream of chicken soup

1/2 t onion salt (why not just onion powder?)

    1/2 t paprika (optional, I couldn't find mine)

Preheat oven to 350. Combine first 7 ingredients in large bowl; stir well to combine thoroughly. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray. Spoon mixture into pan. Sprinkle paprika evenly over all; bake for 1 hour. (This goes well with chicken)

    Cut into 8 pieces: Calories 187, Carb 26g, Fat 4g, Protein 12g, Fiber 3g.

    Cut into 12 pieces: Calories 124, Carb 17g, Fat 3g, Protein 8g, Fiber 2g.

*Throw in some 2% milk Velveeta for a creamier cheese sauce.

    Enjoy!
