HELP WITH STARTING OUT

Ok so I'm Shannon a 28 year old mother to a 16 month old daughter. I stay at home with my child, cause daddy works. I was asking for help cause after reading a woman's story on how she just ran and went for it, I decided it sounded good. I'm going cold turkey, getting off my fat *kitten* and going. So with that being said any advice on how to go about building up to being a full on runner???? I walk 3 to 5 miles about 4 days a week right now. I'm 5'9 255 lbs. Google C25k or couch 2 5k. It's a great program to just get you started on running. I've been using it and I'm running an average of 8 to 10 minutes of my 35 minute cardio workout.0

Advice: be diligent, and don't get discouraged when you aren't progressing as quickly as you want. Baby steps, it's a life change, and you have the rest of your life to get it right!
Good work setting such a great goal!
Just think, some day soon YOU will be the one inspiring others to get off their *kitten* so they can be as healthy/sexy/in shape/etc as you!0 -
I started couch 2 5k last spring. I was still at about 220 after having lost 20 lbs just dieting. I started out running laps in my backyard during naptime. I have 3 kiddos at home. My youngest at the time was about 8 months old. I'm now down to 197 and am running 3 miles 6-7 days a week. Still during naptime but now I run on the treadmill that my aunt gave me. You can totally do this!!!! I feel 100 times healthier when I'm running and I bet you will too!!0

Took the words right outta my mouth! I've never been a runner, but am in week 7 of c25k, and twice this week I've run 2.5 miles without stopping. :bigsmile: Follow the program - it works!0
