Lauryn, the quality of your food will make a difference to your weight-loss. Your entire system (metabolism included) will work at its best and will be most stable when it does not have to process chemical additives like food colourings, chemical flavours and highly-processed sugars. Calories and energy usage are one thing but the more holistic look at how nutrition affects your body is another. One serving of M&Ms isn't going to STOP you from losing weight, but if you take advantage of extra available calories by eating stuff like that on a regular basis your results will suffer.0

Hey ladies!
Sorry I have been so MIA. I have another health issue on my hands. It sucks because I was finally losing some weight, etc. I thought I had a bladder infection. Have not had one in 15 yrs but was pretty sure I remembered the feeling. Went in last Friday and gave them a sample. They called me that afternoon and said I didnt have one yet but if I felt like I was then try to prevent it with lots of fluids, etc. The feeling came and went over the weekend. Not bad, just irritating at times. They called me Monday at 5pm and asked if I could get to my pharmacy before they closed. I have ecoli! I guess it is common but with all I have went through, it just sucks. I must own my pharmacy by now! Now on a strong antibiotic for 5 days. It makes my tummy turn so no exercise for this chick. UGH! :grumble:

I am beginning to sounds like a broken record but maybe the next challenge will be "my" challenge. BTW....name for the next one yet? It is only a little over 1 week away!

Thanks Tammy and Rhiannon. I know better than to eat candy, but I have recently developed a bad sweet tooth. I'll fix that little bugger. Life (and proper diet) is all about learning to manage the dynamic changes of life!!

That is awesome!!! Congrats on the loss. Don't forget to credit yourself too. You are the one doing the work and making the choices to be healthy.

Amy, hope you feel better soon. I hate antibiotics! I always get the worst stomach cramps when I take them. I'm glad the doctor continued to do tests on your sample though, and figured out what was wrong.

Rhiannon, you always have such sound advice. I thought of what you said last night when I had the munchies. We ate early (5:30) and I was starving by 9ish. I had a small bowl of edamame, but still wanted something sweet. Even as I was thinking of what you said, I had a chunk of a Hershey's bar. lol... But it was only 3 little squares (1/4 of the bar) as opposed to the whole thing. And I didn't feel as if I was depriving myself....

Hello to all my sixers! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. I got up this morning and finished week 2 day 3 of C25K. A little worried about bumping up to 3 minutes next week, but I'm going to try. Worst comes to worst, I can redo week 2 if I have to. Finished up with an additional 30 minute walk after I was done. Cold and rainy again, so I'm glad I squeezed in my exercise before that all started. I have been craving pizza all week, and it's not been going away, so I'm thinking maybe we'll have pizza for din-din tonight. And I'm not talking your regular throw it in the freezer pizza... I'm talking good take-out pizza... Yummmmm
Before I eat the pizza and the sodium sends my weight back up.... I'm down to 184.5 today. We'll see where I am on Tuesday lol..0 -
Robin I am soooo proud of you!! I hope your C25K program goes well. You will never know what your body can do until you try! Good job with the waiting on the pizza.... its time to enjoy it if its been on your mind that long! I hope its wonderful!! Congrats on the fitness today too. YAY!!!0

I'm tired this morning. Slept poorly last night, when I slept. Made it to work on time (ish) though!!
Not looking forward to this week's weigh in. Still working on scheduling my exercise routine better. I miss my old routine (working out during my lunch break).
Hope you all had super weekends. I know I did! I shopped for 3 days straight. Needed new work clothes (same size as before, just a much tighter fit :grumble: ), a couple small furniture pieces for the apartment, and new bedroom stuff for my room. Had a GREAT weekend! Very active but now I'm really tired.

The ex left my daughter with my MIL Saturday night so he could go out on date/ bar hopping.
He hadn't seen my daughter in 5 days.
He made up a great cover story to me about why she was with my MIL.
He refused to go out into the world with me. Now he's bar hopping.
I am beyond livid. :mad: I am absolutely nuclear. :explode:
I am afraid my blood pressure is so high that my head my explode.
This is not a good way to start my Monday.
Someone tell me how to make this anger/ hurt/ awful feeling go away, or at least how to bottle it up so I may function today. :sad:0 -

You could try doing some yoga breathing exercises at work. Sometimes the meditative-type stuff works. I wish happy thoughts upon you!:flowerforyou:0

I've been listening to middle eastern music (Suvarna.... chanting type music with a beat... kinda like yoga music but more up-tempo). I've been taking deep breaths and doing all I can. I am so upset I cannot eat so I smoked my lunch break away instead, which is horribly unhealthy but the only alternative I had at the moment. I also talked my best friend's ear off during that hour. Thank God for my bestest-- without her, I'd be a total nutcase instead of a partial nutcase.0

Lauryn- BEST FRIENDS always work. I still rely heavily on writing in a journal. I can write it, cry a little (since you are at your NEW JOB...yay... still happy for you) and then its expressed. Well ladies!!! I'm relaxing today, I did a workout dvd and I'm focusing on correcting a meal every three days for my meal plan. I will work on eating a low cal, high energy breakfast for 3 days and then for lunch then dinner then snacks... until I have found a functional meal plan for me. MY REUNION is in 5 weeks. I don't know why I slacked off for a while... maybe its because I'm finally in ONEDERLAND again and I'm enjoying the moments way way to much. LOL!!! Anyway, I did a dvd and now its time for lunch. I'm going to pack my lunch for work this week. Its very important for me to focus nutritionally so I won't regret these last weeks up until my reunion.

Thanks Tamm :flowerforyou: I ended up typing up 2 pages a little while ago. Had to get it out. Still not feeling any better but it helped slightly.

:sad: So today I wasn't so controlled as I have been since I started this journey back on June 9th. Today I went over my calories big time ... by about 1200 calories. Yikes! :noway: Now my belly hurts and I feel big time sleepy. :yawn: Oh well :ohwell: back on track tomorrow right? I just had to confess ... you know ... to be accountable.0
