Injured (and doing Insanity) General advices?

I think I injured my knee while running down a hill (random) yesterday morning, now when I squat or walk up or down stairs, it stings. Have any of you injured yourselves early in starting to workout or randomly like this? Any advices? How long did it take to heal? Ideas to make it better?
I was thinking to do some strength training or circuit training that doesn't involve too much pressure on my knee, just to keep muscle engaged everyday...
Thanks in advance :flowerforyou:

Light exercise does help to release the pain.
I found ride station bicycle is the best.
And take ibuprofen for swollen inside your knee.
How long you've been doing insanity?
The 1st 2 weeks of insanity, my knees were so sored.0 -
Thank you for the advice, I'll check out ibuprofen as soon as possible.
I had 1 week left...
I did feel (and hear) my joints get used up starting the second month...0 -
So, it was worse the second month?
I felt that my knees had started hurting and were "crunchy" so I started taking a supplement that is supposed to help with joint health. Seems to be working for both my knees and my shoulders. http://www.purityproducts.com/purityEcommerce/control/productDetail?productId=gc-flex-glucosamine-chondroitin
I also "took it easy" by allowing myself two rest days a week instead of just one. Although, when I did workout--I PUSHED and gave it all I had and probably destroyed what the rest and GCFlex did to help me0 -
Be careful with your knees. They get inflammed easily and can cause a lot of trouble. I recommend working out in the water for a while. It takes the pressure off of the joint and is very beneficial. I over worked my knees in my 20s and have had trouble with them ever since. Watch out for ibuprofen...too much is hard on the liver. Ice is good for inflammation. Good luck!! :flowerforyou:0
