I am going out tonight for St Pats to a local bar and grill and was thinking about a cheeseburger, dry of course. Does anyone know how many calories I should figure that at?

Try looking up the restaurant. Many of them have their menu and nutrition on line.

It depends on where you go, what quality the meat is nd what type of bun. There isn't a one size fits all answer

Usually you can get an idea by searching on the data base. Just guesstimate on it. Go a little higher just to be safe. Also, eat the bun and fixings. No point in a burger unless you eat the whole thing. :P

Anywhere from 700 - 1000 calories without the fries

Depends on the type of meat used, the amount used, the type of bun, the type/amount of cheese etc. Lots of variables.

I'd hazard a guess at between 700 -1000 cals, more if it comes with a side of chips or fries. If it's one of those full plate cheeseburger meals like you would see at Applebees, Unos, Perkins etc. - probably close to 1500 for the plate.

Maybe they have a veggie burger option, if you are anything like me the cheese, bun and fixin's are the best part. It will still run you quite a few calories. Amy's veggie burgers are the best, nice to keep in the freezer if the craving ever hits. I keep them with frozen English muffins, they thaw quickly.

It depends on how big the cheeseburger is, the ingredients, how everything is cooked, etc. etc.
I'd say at least 500 calories, probably much more.

On a random note, even though McDonalds is meant to be really unhealthy, compared to most cheeseburgers theirs are generally less calories, and they still taste great.

Although in general, burgers are kind of unhealthy.

I'd say a healthier burger is 500-600 calories. Anything else is astronomically higher usually.

I would enjoy yourself out and have half the burger and some fries. That's what I do.

A lot of menus will say how many ounces their burgers are so then you can look up ground beef for that amount, then figure out toppings and the bun. Restaurant buns tend to be large, upwards of 200 calories so keep that in mind.
