Could just be water weight :) dont stress too much, not everyone loses straight away. Weigh yourself in a few days and see if there's any change :)

Don't worry. When you first start working out the body will retain water as muscle builds. It doesn't last.
  • It was 9 days before I noticed my first drop in weight. I have struggled with the ups and downs of the scale. So I am trying to stay off the scale for a while. I have noticed positive changes in my body even though I have only lost 4 pounds total.

Wheni first started working out, I gained ten pounds. I was in tears. My boyfrien( who's wonderful) explains that most people retain water wait at first. It's ok. Drink alot of water and don't step on that scale for about two weeks, you'll feel like supper wait loss person then. And keep at the working out.

you calorie intake is inconsistent some days you are not eating near enough some days are fine, you need to eat your min daily cals every day when you don't your body goes into starvation mode and will store what your eating as fat to keep as a reserve.

also when first starting to workout it's common to 'seem' like you have gained when in fact you haven't i just learned on another thread that this is called water weight (didn't know it had a name before now lol)

also keep in mind your body weight can also fluctuate throughout the day and week due to fluids e.t.c, pms and other things can affect it, be sure to weigh yourself same time of day every time. i find i always weigh more for e.g in evenings and first thing in morning my body retains fluids e.t.c at this time so i usually weigh in around 11am as that's when's best for - take a day and weigh yourself a few times and note the time of day you weigh the least and then weigh in at this time from now on

    hope i;ve made sense xx
  • I looked at your food journal and overall you aren't eating enough. You should also try adding in things like avocado, salmon, and on occasion a few nuts and seeds. Good fat combats bad fat. you may be retaining water you may not. Try eating more calories and cleaner foods and then don't weigh yourself for a week or two. If you are still having issues reevaluate at that time.

Weigh yourself once a week but look for trends..i.e a net up and down. I can go up or down by 3 lbs in a day you may retain water even more than me. So weigh once a week but look at the trend over a month. If you are exercising and doing a calorie deficit it will eventually show up in the scales..maybe not immediately.
